Weight loss fitness gears

It is well known that one of the most effective means of losing weight is by means of engaging in a healthy diet rich in fruits and vegetables and low on high calorie foods coupled with a proper and regular exercise regimen. In fact while a lot of rapid weight loss supplements are available in the market only a few of them can actually boast of being as effective as physical exercises in aiding weight loss. Most people seem to opt for these quick weight loss supplements as they are easily available and do not require much hardship. But the end result is nil as they are unable to lose weight effectively. In case of weight loss supplements what is generally noticed is that once the intake of these supplements is suspended, weight gain is apparent. Therefore in order to ensure long term weight loss it is advisable that one conforms to the age old mode of resorting to exercising as a means of losing weight effectively. In case of physical exercising, it is necessary to point out that there are majorly two forms of exercises that are undertaken to facilitate weight loss. These include weight bearing exercises and aerobic exercises. Most people today do not get enough time to devote to any form of outdoor exercises and with a huge number of fitness gears available in the market at affordable prices, physical exercising is no more a difficult proposition. Even aerobic exercises are popularly used for weight loss as they are immensely helpful in causing frequent weight loss by increasing the rate of metabolism thus aiding burning of fats. The ideal combination would be to include both these forms of physical exercising in order to ensure effective weight loss.It is necessary for one to bear in mind that at present a variety of fitness gears are available in the market and rising demand has initiated many more manufacturers to enter the market. Hidden Dangers of Soy: Soy Product Dangers

Hidden Dangers of Soy: Soy Product Dangers

If you have been hearing all about how good soy products are for you, and how much the soybean can benefit your health on so many levels, then you might be very surprised to hear that soy is not any of these things! The truth is that soy could even be killing you and your family, and you may not even know it. Do you know what is in soy and soy protein? Did you know that if you are experiencing unusual weight gain, bloating and / or nausea, it could all be eliminated just by removing soy products from your diet?Today’s families are consuming soy and soy products much, much more than we ever were, all throughout history. Is it just a coincidence then, that today’s families are also seeing many more cases of obesity, thyroid problems, osteoporosis, cancer and many more diseases than our ancestors?I bought into the soy fad just like everyone else – until I went into anaphylactic shock! I discovered I was allergic to soy (deathly allergic!), and this prompted me to do some research into the subject. What I found out about soy shocked me into writing a book about it.You may be reading this and thinking, ‘they wouldn’t have put anything on the market if it wasn’t safe – aren’t these things tested and regulated?’ Well, they are not supposed to put things in the stores that aren’t safe, but I’m afraid that they are anyway! In 1966 they did a lot of research into soy and the harmful substance in the soybean. They found that there are naturally occurring compounds within the bean that are toxic to humans and animals. Soy has even been linked with breast cancer, Down syndrome and brain damage in infants!I guess the food manufacturers did not care about the research that was done in 1966. The soy industry makes $70 billion per year today, and whenever we buy soy and soy products we are giving them more reasons not to care!By now you may be wondering why I keep referring to soy products; did you know that due to advances in food technology, they are now isolating soy proteins, isoflavones and other substances found in the soy bean and adding them to foods where soy does not occur naturally? The stunning truth is that almost all processed and manufactured foods today have some form of soy in them. This is a highly disturbing fact, especially because soy actually takes away the nutrients in other foods, not allowing the body to benefit from them. There are many claims made about soy by the soy industry. We have all heard how soy will reverse your child’s obesity, how soy contains less calories and fat, how soy will prevent cancer, and the list goes on. However, there are many hidden dangers with soy products. Keep your family safe from soy protein danger. Do not feed your children soy products. Do not give your baby soy infant formula. Remember to research claims and “health products” before serving them to your family.Dangers of Soy More Articles:Soy Health Risks

Muscle Building Important To Any Weight Loss Program

Muscle Building Important To Any Weight Loss Program

When people think of muscle building, they often think of weight lifters and others who they have seen on television who do not have an ounce of fat on their bodies. However, muscle building or bodybuilding is just as important for people who are trying lose weight as it is for those who are bodybuilders or a guys looking only to gain muscle and to look good.

Studies have shown that you burn 50 calories per day, for every pound of muscle in your body, just doing your daily activities. Your muscle weight may increase when you incorporate a muscle building program, but your body fat will decrease. Inches will melt away. Strength training should be a vital part of your fitness program.

Most people don’t really understand that muscle that is not active is still burning some fat. The inactive muscles are very similar to an idling engine, because even when it is idling it still burns some gasoline. But, your muscles do need to be active if you plan to continue burning those calories. Quitting driving yourself will result in a muscle mass loss, and a decrease in overall calories resulting in a fat gain.

Implementing a special bodybuilding diet along with a weight lifting program is a great way to increase the amount of muscle in your body. But, dietary adjustments all alone will not be quite enough to assist in body fat loss or curb the weight gain.

An effective bodybuilding workout program should focus on two key components which are gaining muscle and burning fat. Once you have lost the weight, you will find staying active is the best way to keep it off. Your workouts will be most effective if you combine a significant amount of cardio to help burn fat with muscle building exercises.

Most doctors say that it is safe and ‘normal’ to lose one to two pounds of body fat per week. This does not sound like much until one considers that a single pound of body fat equals 3500 calories. It takes a combination of diet, exercise, and muscle building to lose that many calories in a week. So go to it and use a great workout for muscle gain in order to see these results for yourself.

Weak Pelvic Floor Muscles Make Sex Less Enjoyable for Women

October 29th, 2008 by admin

Weak pelvic floor muscles can take a heavy toll on a woman’s sex life and even affect the quality of her relationship, according to a new survey by Pelvic Floor Exercise, the pelvic floor specialists.

In the survey of over 250 women who identified themselves as having pelvic floor muscle weakness, over 54% felt that their problems had reduced their enjoyment of sex, with over 40% specifically saying that their ability to reach an orgasm had been affected.

Nearly half believed that their pelvic floor problems had adversely impacted on their relationship with their partner.

“It frustrates both myself and my partner because before we had a wonderful and healthy relationship” said one respondent.

Few women had sought any help, with most saying that they felt embarrassed to discuss the issue. Only 10% had talked with anyone about their sexual difficulties. “It’s hard to openly admit I have a problem” confessed one participant.

These results add support to new study from John Hopkins University in the US which found that amongst a group of women aged 40 and over, those who suffered from pelvic floor problems were more likely to experience sexual difficulties too.

“These results don’t surprise me at all” said Linda McClelland, founder of Pelvic Floor Exercise, who conducted the survey. “We are regularly contacted by women who are worried that they are less sexually responsive because their pelvic floor muscles have become weak. They tell us that they feel able to talk to us by phone or email, but they find it very hard to raise the topic face-to-face with a doctor or therapist.”

Pelvic floor muscles can weaken as a result of age, hormonal changes, weight gain, pregnancy and childbirth, and for other reasons too. Because they are hidden, women often neglect them until they begin to experience problems.

“The first step to overcoming these problems is for a woman to strengthen her pelvic floor muscles” said Linda. “Because some women find it very hard to do this without help, we stock a range of exercise aids that can make all the difference” she continued.

“Feedback exercisers are particularly helpful for improving sexual response, as they really assist women to go the extra mile. We are easily contactable via our website at www.pelvicfloorexercise.comand always happy to talk to women about the aids we have available.

Respondents in the survey were aged between 21 and 74, with two thirds of them 35 or older.

Pcos and Weight Loss

October 29th, 2008 by admin

PCOS or PolyCystic Ovary Syndrome has been linked to many problems such as infertility, acne and weight gain and is more widespread in the population of woman than most people think. Recent studies have estimated that approximately one in ten women have this condition which is an astounding amount when you consider that is 10% of the world population of one gender sharing a common problem. So how is PCOS and weight loss tied together now we realize the extent of this problem?

Polycystic Ovary Syndrome has a major effect on women’s bodies which causes an elevation of the male hormones called androgenic hormones one of which is testosterone which is the biggest problem. When a woman suffers from PCOS the ovaries tend to create excessive levels of these hormones but so far medical science has not discovered exactly how or why. The elevated hormone levels that come from this interfere with the normal workings of a woman’s body giving a whole range of issues that can vary from woman to woman including weight gain, infertility, ovarian cysts, insulin resistances, acne, irregular menstruation and even strokes!

While some of these symptoms are easier to see than others certainly weight gain and acne are amongst the easiest to spot. Many women who are otherwise living a healthy lifestyle can be thwarted by this condition and put on weight much easier than they should which can be disheartening and can often lead them to give up on a healthy lifestyle for weight loss and either let themselves go or take drastic action that could be avoided.

You see while PCOS is widespread many women do not know they even have it and many doctors do not help much as they only look at drugs rather than more natural, homeopathic solutions. If you are battling with weight loss you can see a doctor to discover if you have PCOS but the real success in the field of PCOS and weight loss along with clearing up acne and becoming more fertile is from the alternative medicine sector especially using special diets to regulate our bodies better.

Is There a Pcos Cure?

October 29th, 2008 by admin

With an estimated one in ten women around the world suffering from Polycystic Ovary Syndrome along with an increasing awareness of the condition there is a chorus of voices asking is there a PCOS cure. With mainstream medicine including doctors, pharmaceutical companies and others linked through money to these groups all offering little in the way of a permanent cure where does one look for a lasting solution? Common practice in dealing with PCOS are costly and temporary drug regimes which can cause harsh side effects and are reported to be hit and miss even then with their effectiveness, with this in mind many people are turning to alternative homeopathic medicine in desperation. While many only turn to alternative medicine when they are out of options in the case of PCOS there is mounting evidence that a PCOS cure is found with naturopaths and others that promote natural remedies and lifestyle changes to achieve amazing results! What has been found is that PCOS causes an excess of male hormones in a woman’s body through ovaries that are defective in some way. These hormones that include testosterone are part of a group called androgenic hormones which have a bad effect on a woman’s body just as the female hormone Estrogen can have effects on a males body. The hormones interfere with the reproductive system and can cause weight gain, acne and facial hair in some women but it has also been linked to insulin resistance and even strokes. The natural cures that have found success with this focus on changing diet, sleeping patterns and exercise in ones lifestyle to combat this nart8urally and allow the body to regulate itself as long as it is given the right fuel and incentive to do so. So is there a PCOS cure? Yes and no, it is unproven that even the successful natural treatments actually eliminate PCOS but it has been seen to reduce the effect PCOS has on a persons body as to be negligible making it as good as cured.

Losing Weight With Hypnosis

October 29th, 2008 by admin

Losing Weight With Hypnosis

Controlling your weight and avoiding weight gain as you get older are important ways to prevent a host of weight-related health problems. Indeed, if you are more than 20 pounds over your ideal weight, you are at greater risk for a rogues’ gallery of potentially deadly conditions, including diabetes, high blood pressure, coronary heart disease, endometrial cancer, obstructive sleep apnea, and breast cancer. What’s more, most people who are overweight tend to avoid exercise, and that avoidance just adds to the toll paid for extra pounds. If you have a sedentary lifestyle and are overweight, you are at a higher risk of cardiovascular disease and other health problems. And, if you already have a medical condition such as high cholesterol, being overweight puts you at higher risk for complications. The good news is that even modest amounts of weight loss can improve your health significantly. Loss of 10% of body weight can reduce blood pressure, high cholesterol, triglyceride, and high blood sugar levels. Today, there are many procedures that can contribute and help people loss weight effectively. One of the known procedure in losing weight is through hypnosis. However, many misconceptions have come up with regards to the application of hypnosis in losing eight. And because it does not involve drugs or any kinds of medications and surgery, many people tend to think that losing weight through hypnosis seems to be one of the safest weight loss program. To know more about hypnosis and its effects on losing weight, here is a list of some facts that will give you an insight about what it can do to your body weight. 1. Hypnosis can be an imminently risky if not done properly and not utilize by people who are highly trained with the real concept of hypnosis. Even if many people tend to think that hypnosis will not pose imminent danger to their health, still, it is important to know that the person who will do the procedure is skilled enough and that he or she knows what factors to consider before doing the procedures. 2. Hypnosis alone cannot eliminate excess fat from the body and, therefore, make somebody lose weight. Most health experts contend that hypnosis should only be a part of a whole assimilated process. It should never be used as the sole weight loss procedure. Moreover, one session of hypnosis will only have very minimal results on an individual’s weight. When losing weight, hypnosis matched with psychotherapy will be more effective than hypnosis alone. This is because hypnosis is only a state of deeply relaxing the mind, in which one can still be in control of his or her own body. 3. Hypnosis is one way of getting into the subliminal state of a person. When a person is on the “hypnotic stage,” the body is more responsive to suggestibility because of its intensified state of concentration. However, this does not necessarily mean that through hypnosis, one can already “reprogram” the mind of an individual. In reality, hypnosis can only run the range from trouble-free relaxation condition to proper initiation managed by a professional hypnotists. Hence, it should not be considered paranormal and magical in its upshots. Boiled down, people should be more aware that hypnosis is not a sole effective process in losing weight. It is more of a facilitator of various treatment techniques. Therefore, it should be combined with other weight loss management program to be effective in making people lose excess weight. In this manner, people will be able to lose more weight with a more relaxed and refreshed state of mind. As they say, a healthy mind is a healthy body.

What Is There I Can Say Regarding Detoxification Diets by Kerris Samson - ArticleCity.com

October 29th, 2008 by admin

As you can see, detox diets have become part of the diet craze and that is why more and more people searching on the internet for them are increasing.

There are various words that you were heard of such as toxins, detoxification, cleansing and purifying and all of these relate to detox diets.

Firstly let’s talk about toxins. These are harmful chemicals which can affect the way your body works. You will find them all around you, they are in your food you consume, the water that you drink and the air that you breathe and also in your body (they are the waste products of metabolism). However, although your body is able to remove most of these toxins from it, there are some which are stored within your body’s fat. These toxins stored within your body and combined with stress can affect the way your body works in many unpleasant ways, such as weight gain, headaches, feelings of fatigue and weakness, a feeling of heartburn, complaining of sore muscles and skin and joint pains

Although these symptoms will fade when you start a detox diet, you may find that you feel some discomfort in the first few days, but this is the body reacting normally to a change in diet. You may also find that you suffer from headaches or sore muscles at the beginning, but this is because the toxins are being released quicker in to your body than it can react to remove them. However, these symptoms should not occur again if you detox on a regular basis.

So why is a detox diet an ideal way to help with weight loss?

The reason why a detox diet is so good with weight loss is because the process releases and then expels the toxins stored in your body through the elimination organs such as the intestines, liver, lungs, kidney and skin. The whole idea of a detox diet is not only to cleanse your body of toxins but it is also a nutritious dietary plan which not only cleanses the body, but also helps to improve your metabolism.

There are recommendations now being made for being to use detox diets to help improve a person’s resistance against diseases, mental state, and digestive problems as well as strengthening those organs which are involved in the detox diet. Detox diets can help to prevent serious diseases such as Cancer, ADD, ADHD, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and many chemical sensitivities that people are becoming prone to, as well as being able to treat heart disease, fibromyalgia and autoimmune disease.

So what sorts of foods should you take in a detox diet.

Many detox diets recommend that you should consume foods that are especially beneficial to your health and essential if you wish to lose weight. Such goods that come into this category are organic foods and lots of fruit and vegetables. You should also drink lots of purified water (preferably at least 2 litres a day), cut back on all those processed foods you like and if you do smoke then quit and give up alcohol as well.

What you should remember is that detox diets are very restrictive as to what is acceptable and you should follow it to the letter. Detox diets are safe but you should consult your doctor before you start one.

The types of detox diets that are around today are as follows:-

1. Fasting. This is where you only drink water, juices or broths (soups) or the eating of one certain kind of food for a specific time period. This one allows your body to start burning fat off for the energy that it needs.

2. Nutritional Supplements. All you do during this diet is to take nutritious powders, vitamins and specific packaged protein snacks.

3. Hydrotherapy. You detox your body by releasing the toxins out through the skin pores by taking special baths.

4. Specific Detox Diets. These usually last between 7 and 30 days but there are quick ones which last only 1 to 3 days, but there are others that last for 8 weeks.

I hope this information has provided you with a basis on which to look at detox diets as a way of helping to improve your life and providing you with a healthier lifestyle.

October 29th, 2008 by admin

If You Lose 20 Pounds in 2 Weeks, Is Your Weight Loss Journey in the Right Direction?

If anyone tells you can lose 20 pounds in 2 weeks or other outrageous claims, you need to be very careful. Most of those people who lose so much weight gain it back as fast as they had lost them. The truth is it is very easy to lose so much weight by just draining out the water weight of the body. Thus it is common to find people getting back all the weight once they are off their crash diets.Any weight loss program that is in the right direction will focus on FAT LOSS and not in just losing weight. It is the necessary to burn the fat that stays accumulated in your body in areas like stomach, thighs, back, abdomen etc. As long as your focus is only on losing weight, you will keep tumbling from one program or diet to another and at each time gaining back all the weight that you had lost.Losing water weight is very easy. Athletes and body builders do it all the time before any competition to qualify for their weight category. It is important not to confuse weight loss with fat loss. A proper weight loss program should be aimed at increasing your body’s metabolism, which is the rate at which the body burns the calories and fat consumed. Instead of crash dieting and trying any of those good for nothing supplements, the prime focus should be on increasing your body’s metabolism. When you go on a starvation diet, your body slows down its metabolism to conserve the fat and energy. For optimum fat loss, you must burn more calories than you consume. It is necessary to eat the right kind of food that boosts the body’s metabolism. Each person has a different metabolic system. It is necessary to understand your metabolism type and accordingly choose a diet that will make your system burn those calories fast.Other reasons like stress, lack of sleep, improper eating habits or starvation diets, presence of toxins and parasites in the body can greatly reduce your metabolism rate. It is no use losing 20 pounds in 2 weeks if you did not lose any fat. The right program for weight loss should help you with a clear blueprint to boost your metabolism so that you can become a fat burning machine and help you achieve the sexy, slim and healthy body of your dreams.
