A Natural Hair Loss Remedy

October 30th, 2008 by admin

A Natural Hair Loss Remedy

A natural hair loss remedy has now been developed from the true cause of androgenetic alopecia - Skull Expansion. This article explains how Skull Expansion was discovered and how simple self-help techniques completely reversed my own hair loss. Some simply accept their fate. But, for many others, androgenetic alopecia (male pattern baldness or MPB) is an embarrassing and alarming condition. I know all this because, back in 1989, I was one such person! When I first noticed hair loss, it frustrated and annoyed me. But, before long, I had become obsessed and depressed by it. The prospect of becoming totally bald at the age of 23 was something I quite simply refused to accept (vanity in your twenties can do things like that!) There had to be a hair loss remedy, and I had to find it! Obviously my first approach was to ask the experts. But, being very technically minded, my questions were, perhaps, somewhat different from those they usually faced.I wanted to know why the rate and region of hair loss can vary. For example, some people lose hair at the front (receding temples), others develop a bald patch at the back, and some suffer hair loss throughout the MPB region of the scalp. I also knew that androgenetic alopecia can start at any age from puberty onwards, and that this process may be extremely rapid or much more gradual. I asked what caused all these variations.I had also noticed that, in some cases, hair continues to grow thick and strong despite baldness all around it. I wanted this observation explained to me.Finally, I asked how could it be that DHT (dihydrotestosterone) has been linked to both hair loss and hair growth. (DHT causes facial hair, body hair, etc to grow at puberty).I considered these questions extremely relevant to the hair loss process and, as such, quite straightforward for a hair specialist to answer. But, every trichologist or dermatologist I asked simply brushed these questions aside saying that it doesn’t really matter where or when male pattern baldness starts, the most important thing is how to deal with it.Whilst this sounded fair enough at first, those questions kept haunting me. They were important, and so should have been answered. I also found it very surprising and disappointing that they weren’t answered because it gave the impression that these people didn’t fully understand the hair loss mechanism. And, if they didn’t know, how could I ever rid myself of this problem?I’ve never approved of drugs, lotions or transplants, so conventional treatment was out of the question. (The way I see it, a natural problem should have a natural solution). I had to find a different hair loss remedy — even if that meant doing it on my own!So I then focused on finding the answers to my questions (believing that they would reveal the true mechanism behind androgenetic alopecia). I started what was to become seven years of research, reasoning and testing. This was extremely painstaking work, but eventually I began to understand where all those hair loss professionals and standard theories for androgenetic alopecia were going wrong. These standard theories include the following:1. DHT receptor sites2. Sebum overproduction and inadequate hygiene3. Poor nutrition4. StressHowever, none of these theories can answer all of those previous questions. (And, as such, they should be now be considered as factors affecting the hair loss process, and not the underlying cause). The true cause of androgenetic alopecia is Skull Expansion. As soon as you understand a problem, you can then start work on a solution. So, from the theory behind Skull Expansion, I began developing simple techniques and regimes that could be used to counteract the hair loss process. I had to experiment of course, and ended up trying several ideas. But, eventually, I found success — a method that really worked. It was amazing — I had finally found the hair loss remedy I had spent seven years looking for.Within about three months of use I had begun growing thick, strong, healthy hair on my scalp (i.e., not simply vellus hair). And today, over a decade later, I still enjoy a full head of hair. Most people believe that hair loss is such a daunting obstacle to overcome, that no natural method can ever deny this process and restore permanent scalp hair. But, having now completely reversed this condition for myself, it seems that a natural problem like male pattern baldness can have a natural solution after all!

Gently Narrow Your "Estrogen Window" With Lignan’s

October 30th, 2008 by admin

Gently Narrow Your %26quot;Estrogen Window%26quot; With Lignan’s

Although many people think that breast cancer is a genetically transferred disease, the truth is that it is rarely genetically transferred, as only one in every ten cases are linked to genes for this cancer. Strong evidence points to environmental causes being the main reason for breast cancer. By avoiding synthetic chemicals that mimic estrogens, a substantial fraction of these cancers can be prevented. These synthetic chemicals are called xenoestrogens. These xenoestrogens are manmade chemicals that either imitate or enhance the effects of estrogens in the body’s cells and tell these cells to grow. During puberty, this growth message is important to a woman’s body and during pregnancy and the preparation for that. At this time period, estrogens are in full force, but if estrogen stimulation is increased by chemicals, cell growth is increased even more. Uncontrolled cell growth provides the foundation for cancer. As cells rapidly multiply, which is what happens when exposed to estrogens, the chance of DNA mutation is enhanced, which causes the creation of cancerous cells. A lot of women today also deal with increased estrogen stimulation over their lifetimes due to an early onset of menstruation, late menopause, and less time spent breastfeeding. The use of estrogen-containing oral contraceptives and post-menopausal hormone replacement also add to the estrogen burden, along with obesity and being overweight. Estrogens affect cells by binding to receptor sites. However, there are tools that help to reduce the impact of areas that have a lot of receptor sites, such as the breasts. One of the main tools is lignans, which are a group or naturally occurring plant chemicals that are found in flaxseeds. Interest in lignans began with observational studies, which found a link between high intake and reduced risk of breast and colon cancers. Studies have reinforced those results, finding that lignans inhibit the growth of breast and colon cancer and also reduce the spread of skin cancer. The real benefit of lignans starts when they reach your intestines, where friendly bacteria convert them into phytoestrogens. Phytoestrogens are a gentler estrogen, which bind to the same receptors that other estrogens bind, but don’t have the growth-accelerating effects. While they are occupying these receptors, the less kind and gentle estrogens are unable to bind to them, resulting in both an estrogenic and estrogen-blocking effect. This explains why lignans are effective both for fighting against breast cancer and reducing the effect of hot flashes other symptoms during menopause. When estrogens are low, lignans act as weak estrogens, but when they are high, lignans act as estrogen blockers. The risk for breast cancer is strongly affected by a woman’s “estrogen window”, or overall estrogen exposure that has been experienced over her reproductive years. The early onset of menstruation, no pregnancies, being pregnant after age 30, limited or no breastfeeding, short menstrual cycles, and late menopause all expand the estrogen window, increasing lifetime estrogen exposure along with the risk for breast cancer. By adding lignans to the diet, women can reduce the size of the estrogen window, and therefore, block the excess estrogen stimulation in estrogen-sensitive tissues like the breasts. Additionally, lignans are also believed to reduce the risk of colon and prostate cancers. When they are delivered along with omega-3-rich flaxseed oil, they promote better cholesterol balance, heart health, joint health, better bone density, greater endurance, better blood sugar balance, and healthy skin, hair, and nails.

Acne is a nightmare for so many people. Not only teens, many adults have acne too. Is there an ultimate acne control treatment? Unfortunately the miracle acne medicine is yet to be discovered. If any acne product promises you an acne free face in three days don%26#8217;t you believe that. However, there are several ways to control acne that work well for most people. Want to know what they are?

Acne is a nightmare for so many people. Not only teens, many adults have acne too. Is there an ultimate acne control treatment? Unfortunately the miracle acne medicine is yet to be discovered. If any acne product promises you an acne free face in three days don%26#8217;t you believe that. However, there are several ways to control acne that work well for most people. Want to know what they are?

Acne control - is there an ultimate acne treatment?

Can acne be cured? Unfortunately not, at least not completely. Scientists are still not certain what cause acne. Most agree that it is related to hormonal imbalance that happens during puberty. But there is still no explanation why some teens are so badly affected while their lucky peers can clean faces. But the good news is that whatever causes acne, it can be controlled and acne outbreaks can be prevented.

The most unlucky group who has acne is teenagers, but adult acne happens often too. It can suddenly pop up at any age. Common condition called acne rosacea occurs after 30.

As with any disease it is better to prevent it than to cure. With acne this is especially true - preventing acne outbreaks is very important.

Acne control diet

Your diet is important for acne control. It was previously believed that oily foods like pizza and other fast foods can cause acne. Recent studies have shown that this is not true. However, these foods are “empty calories” meaning that they don%26#8217;t deliver any useful vitamins and nutrients.

To help your skin fight acne you need to provide it with good nutrition. So plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables is a must for a good acne control diet. Most important vitamin for preventing acne is Vitamin B5. You can take it as

additional supplement. Eating fish is also beneficial, because Omega 3 fat is important for healthy skin. Also avoid drinking too much milk. Milk contains some hormones that can cause acne breakouts.

Regular cleansing is the best acne control treatment

Use gentle acne cleansers to wash your face. Usually using a cleanser in the morning and in the evening gives best results. Doing it more often won%26#8217;t help, it can only irritate your skin. It is important to use an acne cleanser even when you don%26#8217;t have an outbreak. It will prevent acne from popping up. Cleansers with benzoyl peroxide give best results. You can get acne cleansers in any chemist or supermarket.

Prescription acne medication

For mild cases of acne simply cleansing your skin every day will help. However, if you used a good cleanser for a couple weeks and saw no improvement, it is time to visit a dermatologist and ask a professional advice. Don%26#8217;t waste you time and money trying other over the counter products that promise miracles - most of them contain the same ingredients any way. So if one cleanser didn%26#8217;t work for you, it is unlikely that any other would ether.

A doctor can prescribe you an acne control treatment suitable for your skin. It can be acne antibiotic cream or an oral acne medication. To clean your skin a doctor can also suggest a cleaning treatment such as dermabrasion or a chemical peel.

The key to best acne control treatments is not to give up. If you found acne cleanser or cream that works, use it regularly. And don%26#8217;t forget about your diet too. Follow doctor%26#8217;s instructions, if you are prescribed acne treatment. This way you can clear your face of acne and prevent farther outbreaks.

Excessive Underarm Sweating: How To Stop Excessive Underarm Sweating and Never Be Embarrassed Again!

Excessive Underarm Sweating: How To Stop Excessive Underarm Sweating and Never Be Embarrassed Again!
by Michael Lee

Excessive underarm sweating is downright embarrassing. People who suffer from axillary hyperhidrosis (another term for excessive underarm sweating) are very limited in their movements. They cant confidently raise their arms, wave to their friends, drive comfortably, or even pick up an object on the ground - without feeling conscious of other people noticing their sweaty armpits mark.

This is damaging to their self-esteem, especially when their excessive underarm sweating becomes the laughing stock of the office. As a result, their social life and career might suffer the consequences of this embarrassing perspiration problem.

Excessive underarm sweating usually occurs during puberty. Most people think that the hot weather is the main cause of sweaty armpits, but there are other reasons when you see your underarms perspiring in a perfectly cool environment.

If you often feel anxious, nervous, or uncomfortable in the company of certain people, this might be a reason for extreme underarm perspiration. Such situation is more embarrassing, because people will think youre abnormally sweaty (and may have body odor) if youre perspiring excessively while everyone else is dry and comfy.

If others are sweating because its a hot day, that could give you an excuse; but its very humiliating when youre perspiring non-stop (especially if you have sweaty armpits) when others are not.

Another factor for extreme perspiration could be the foods youre eating. If you love foods with lots of garlic, onions, chili or exotic spices, you might want to cut back from those dishes and see if it will cure your excessive underarm sweating problem.

Some people have tried antiperspirants with aluminum chloride, but they dont seem to work for everyone. Some have opted for expensive (and often painful) treatments such as botox injections and surgery. Not only can this be agonizing for the body and may entail some risks, but can also deplete your savings.

If youre suffering from extreme underarm perspiration due to anxiety or stress, you might want to try meditation, hypnosis, and other methods to help you relax your nerves.

If your sweating problem is accompanied by body odor, make sure to shave your armpits hair, as the smell could cling to it.

Excessive underarm sweating could kill your chances of having a normal life, unless you do something that will cure it once and for all.

Varicose Veins: Causes & Cures

October 29th, 2008 by admin

Varicose Veins: Causes %26amp; Cures

Varicose veins are bloated, discolored veins. They appear enlarged %26 twisted. Varicose veins are typically 3mm or more in diameter. They are normally found on the thighs or the backs of the calves. Varicose veins are a lot painful %26 itchy. Scratching them can root open sores to come out. Varicose veins occur extra frequently with women than men %26 with people over the age of 60. Despite the most outstanding efforts of researchers, the accurate cause of varicose veins still remains an ambiguity, but there are a few theories.A person who is fat passes the additional mass in the abdominal power to the leg veins, which origin the veins to expand. In most instances varicose veins are established in the legs, which suggest that this situation comes from standing for extensive periods of time.Veins have valves that avert the blood from flowing backwards as it goes up the legs. In varicose veins, however, these valves stop working or become weak %26 result in blood going away from the heart %26 leaking back into the vein %26 collect there. This pooled blood enlarges %26 stretches the vein %26 it becomes varicose.Arturo-Venous shunts can deteriorate the vein walls since it helps bypass the capillaries, which maintains the high BP of the arteries from overpowering the veins. The hormones formed during puberty, pregnancy %26 menopause can create Arturo-Venous shunts.Researchers haven’t been able to determine a treatment for varicose veins, but there are cures that can alleviate a few of the troubles of varicose veins.Surgery can be used to cure severe varicose veins. This method is called veins stripping. This is generally done under local %26 partial anesthesia. This surgical procedure involves inserting an elastic implement throughout the varicose vein. When the elastic is taken out, the varicose veins are removed with it.There are two endogenous procedures that can be used to take away severe varicose vein in the legs %26 thighs. These methods are less persistent than vein stripping %26 don’t require an overnight hang about. Both procedures need the insertion of a tool inside the varicose vein. The endogenous radio frequency closure procedure uses a catheter to transmit radio frequency power to close the varicose vein. The endogenous laser process uses a diode laser to broadcast laser energy to close the varicose veins. In both cases, the varicose veins will turn into scar tissue %26 eventually fade away in some weeks. After either process, a person could carry on his or her usual routine the very subsequent day.The most common cure used to eliminate rigorous varicose vein is sclerotherapy. This process requires no anesthesia %26 doesn’t require an all night stay. A liquid such as sodium tetradcyl sulfate, hypertonic saline, %26 aethoxyskerol is injected into the varicose veins. This liquid will seal the vein walls %26 stop the blood flow. Then the varicose veins will turn into scar tissue %26 eventually fade away in quite a few weeks. Additional treatments might be required for a few special cases.

Are Cold Sores Contagious?

When someone suffers from a cold sore, the first thought that could arise in your mind is whether you can catch the same infection from that person. The cold sores can spread easily from one to the other in more than one way. You can infect others easily through your cold sore. It is spread through a virus, which is easily spreadable. A person does not have an active cold sore but posses the virus herpes simplex virus. As it is commonly, said HSV-1 virus that causes cold sore generally affects at the age five. It will show its ill effects in form of cold sore after puberty. This virus can lie in an inactive form for a longer time and transfers in to a disease named cold sore. Cold sore is a highly contagious disease. You have to avoid kissing, coughing, sneezing and through a common touch of the infected person. Other people get easily affected. These viruses are easily transferable. A child can get cold sore through touch of infected parent in a daily routine. It is sensitive disease and spread by common touch. One of the most common ways that HSV-1 spread is through a used thing of an infected person, could be a toothbrush or tube of lip balm. There is a strong risk of infection to the next person if particles of the HSV-1 virus transferred to an object and someone else uses it. Thus the contamination of disease occurs. People are most possible to become infected with this virus by coming into contact to someone with a cold sore. Here chances of getting the infection are very high.Cold sore developes in many stages or steps before it goes away. The tingle stage is the first where the virus gets out of sleep. At this point, the cold sore has not yet formed, but the virus get reactivated. The next stage is weeping stage. In the weeping stage of cold sore, the risk of spreading the virus increases and becomes high risky. At this stage, the sore burst opens and expels a clear liquid. The risk of infection is greater than normal in the crusting stage when the sore scabbed over. These are the stages and possibilities of being infected by cold sore. In every stage, they are contagious. You have to make sure that the other person will not be in danger because of you. Avoid close contact by any way to the other person if you have cold core. You will never think that are core cores contagious. Take care of your hygiene. It is beneficial to remark that HVS-1 virus not only easily spread able among people but also flexible to transfer within different parts of body. The infected person may harm himself by affecting various parts of body.People must be sure to wash their hands systematically when they have a cold sore to avoid the spread of HSV-1.Just avoid contact to the infected person and save yourself from cold sore infection.

Complete Information on Adrenal hyperplasia with Treatment and Prevention

Complete Information on Adrenal hyperplasia with Treatment and Prevention

Adrenal hyperplasia refers to a radical of inherited adrenal gland disorders. People with this condition do no make enough of the hormones cortisol and aldosterone, and produce too much of androgen. Most of these conditions involve greater or lesser production of sex steroids and can alter development of primary or secondary sex characteristics in affected infants, children, and adults. Adrenal hyperplasia can affect both boys and girls. People with congenital adrenal hyperplasia lack of an enzyme needed by the adrenal gland to make the hormones cortisol and aldosterone. There are two major types of this disorder: classic adrenal hyperplasia, the more severe form of the disease affecting very young children; and nonclassic adrenal hyperplasia, a milder form that usually develops in late childhood or early adulthood.New-sprung girls with this disease have a swollen clitoris with the urethral opening at the base. The internal structures of the female reproductive tract are normal. No obvious problems are seen in newborn males, but changes can be seen long before puberty normally occurs. People with adrenal hyperplasia lack of an enzyme needed by the adrenal gland to make the hormones cortisol and aldosterone. The child becomes increasingly muscular, the penis enlarges, pubic hair appears, and the voice deepens. Although adrenal hyperplasia can be life-threatening, most people with it can lead normal lives with proper treatment. Some forms of adrenal hyperplasia are more severe and cause adrenal crisis in the newborn due to salt wasting. A newborn screening test is available for the most common form of adrenal hyperplasia and can be done on heelstick blood. Adrenal hyperplasia is diagnosed by demonstration of excess cortisol precursors in the serum during an adrenal corticotropic hormone challenge. Most forms of adrenal hyperplasia are usually treated by use of medication. Prenatal therapy with a synthetic hormone called dexamethasone throughout pregnancy can allow proper development of the external genitalia in female fetuses. Affected girls are then born with normal external genitalia and do not require corrective surgery. Untreated, this condition can lead to death within 1 to 6 weeks after birth. Parents of children with congenital adrenal hyperplasia should be aware of the side effects of steroid therapy.

A Juice Machine Can Change Your Life

A Juice Machine Can Change Your Life

For years I would hear from people that had juice machine all of the wonderful things that they could do for your health. They said that it would give me more energy, improve my immune system, improve my psychological well being, and do all sorts of other wonderful things for my body.Since I recently received my very own juicing machine, I have to admit that I have experienced a great sense of wellness and well-being. It’s not only due to the health advantages of the freshly made vegetable juices I’ve been drinking. It’s also caused an extreme and noticeable lessening of mental stress and anxiety which I’d experienced prior to using it. That is, the mental stress bought on by departing with my well earned money to buy the ever more expensive fresh juices in restaurants, health stores, and juice bars.I started using my juicer to create my own interesting and sometimes weird concoctions and combinations. Wheatgrass and ginger to cleanse the lymph system and build up the blood. Barley grass and tomatoes for their high anti-oxidant values. My own original beet, celery, and ginger combination. And many more. Before buying my juice machine, I was really beginning to feel exploited by the juice bars charging as much as five and seven dollars for a few carrots, a stalk of celery, an apple, and some honey through their industrial juicer. In many ways I am not that health-conscious, but I really love freshly squeezed juice. I grew up without a juicing machine, and I remember that many of the bottled drinks at the time advertised that they were “made with real fruit juice”, but in reality they were sugar water with only enough “real fruit juice” in them to give the drinks a hint of the taste of the original fruit.I was also not the healthiest of children. I had asthma and shortness of breath. I was moody, distracted, and had serious problems with attention and concentration. When I reached puberty, my skin condition went from bad to worse. I had pock marks, pimples, and acne and was embarrassed to go out.It wasn’t until I discovered “real” juice in my early twenties, that I became aware of just how much what I ate and drank affected my over all health. My girlfriend was a health addict and, if I remember correctly, had a “Jack Lallane” juicing machine which she used religiously every day. And through her own persistence, she got me hooked on juicing as well.It took me a while to get used to the taste and concentrations of some of the stranger juice concoctions that she came up with. But I noticed almost immediately, within a two-week period, the drastic difference in my energy levels and the clearness of my skin. Now, even though I have my own juicing machine, I no longer juice every day, as my schedule doesn’t permit it. But I do it as often as I can. I just wish I had started sooner.

Prevent Acne on Your Skin

Prevent Acne on Your Skin

The outright truth is that acne is unattractive, disgraceful and painful for anyone to want to suffer from its imprisonment. It commences at puberty in many victims then stops during early twenties, and then shamelessly returns at old age. Nonetheless; it is not all people who suffered from acne since their teen age will be released from this agony at some point in their lives, some will tolerate it forever. Today though, there are many medications aimed at healing acne, some works marvelously while others accelerate the problem, but this does not mean you should not prevent acne.If you had acne previously, currently or have never had it, your aim must be to prevent acne on your skin, because as long there is a skin nearby, the causative bacteria p. acnes will for all time hang around it. Prevention therefore will include all the measures that you must take to ensure that you stay away from acne bacteria wrath because one thing you must understand is that your skin plays the host role. However this role might turn bitter to you when the intruder decides to show gratitude by devouring the same skin’s sebum (a secretion of the sebaceous glands at the dermis). What makes the problem worse are the enzymes released by the same bacteria as it eats thus causing more irritation to the pimple of whatever kind.In order for you to do this, you must learn to maintain high sanitation standards of your skin at all times, understand your skin type and the products that are specially made for such. The dry, oily or a combination of the two is the most desirable for the bacteria as opposed to a normal skin. They say that a healthy looking skin will say much about a person’s lifestyle and to some extent this is true. if you want to prevent acne at all times, then start by checking your diet, and if its is not balanced, then ensure you make with a special supplements of vegetables and fruits.Again if you are the dormant type, who prefers working indoors all the time, it is high time you do something to treat yourself. Nothing comes so easily, not before you break your back trying to achieve it, simply learn to value exercising your body, not only to maintain a healthy weight but to allow free circulation of air. The other thing you should ensure is ensuring that before you purchase any cosmetic, you find out which skin type it was made for and for what purpose. Most products for acne are made to unclog the congested pores, others to reduce sebum production and yet other are made to kill bacteria. One can be lucky to have no pimple ever in their lives but this is rare, at least one will one will not hurt. If you catch one, make sure that you do not pop it open because this will attract more germs to make it worse. You must also make sure that, stress and anxiety is far because this will show on your skin. At all times find coping skills that will enable you to deal head on with your problems and if you can not do any thing about them, then let go. Adopt an open- minded personality instead.

Genu valgum Detailed Information

October 28th, 2008 by admin

Genu valgum Detailed Information

Genu valgum, commonly known as,” knock-knees. The condition usually accompanies femoral varus and tibial valgus. Most children develop a slight knock-kneed stance by the time they are 2 or 3 years old, frequently with significant separation at the ankles when the knees are touching. This is part of normal development and often persists through age 5 or 6, at which time the legs begin to straighten fully. By puberty, most children can stand with the knees and ankles touching. Mild genu valgum can be seen in children from ages 2 to 5, and is often corrected naturally as children develop.Knock knees can also develop as a result of disease processes. Most frequently the cause has already been diagnosed and the knock knees are recognized as a symptom of the condition. It increases the risk of knee injuries (especially patellofemoral pain syndrome) because the abnormal angling of the thigh and lower leg imposes most of the athlete’s weight on the inside of the knees. There is no known treat for knock knees post-childhood. Treatment may slow the progression of the condition and prevent recurrence. Contrary to common belief, no amount of orthotic treatment or bodybuilding exercise will straighten knock knees for adults. If the condition persists or worsens into late childhood and adulthood, a corrective osteotomy may be recommended to straighten the legs. This however is more of a cosmetic remedy, and may hamper athletic performance in the future. In some cases, surgery may be considered for knock knees that persist beyond late childhood and in which the separation between the ankles is severe. Surgical treatment depends upon the maturity of the child. In younger children, whose growth plates are open and still growing, knee alignment can be changed by tethering the growth plates of the femur or tibia using staples. As the increase plate grows on the untethered side, the knee will grow out of its extreme angle. In older children, who no longer have open growth plates, treatment consists of cutting, straightening and then holding the bones of the knee in place while they heal with metal implants, including pins, plates and screws. Although both treatments have high success rates, they should be done only if clearly essential and at the appropriate age. Bracing and physical therapy may provide a temporary reprieve of symptoms, but they do not afford long-term symptomatic relief.
