How to Make an Herbal Facial ?

More and more women these days are into taking care of their skin. One great way to do that is to get a facial. You have got a facial one of two ways. You can go to the salon or you can do it at home. Each one of these has its good points as well as bad. A salon facial will cost you more money than an at home facial would. But the facial mask and lotions that are used in a salon cannot be bought in stores. Once you have a facial at a salon some women never give themselves another facial again. Salon facials include a face massage and to the stressed out woman the extra money is well worth it.At home facials are just as good but without the face massage. These facial masks are great especially when you can’t afford the salon life style as some women do. There is nothing wrong with that. If you don’t have the money then you can get a perfectly good facial at home. Drugstores and cosmetics places carry many different kinds of facial masks. Apricot, Avocado and Mudd are the 3 most popular facial masks. One secret ingredient for facials that many people overlook is Oatmeal. You can either buy the facial mask that includes oatmeal or you can concoct a homemade oatmeal facial mask with rolled oats and honey or straight oatmeal. Prepare the oatmeal as you would as if you are going to eat it. Once it cools down a little, you can apply it warm if you like. Add some honey if you wish. Leave the oatmeal mask on for 15 minutes and wipe dry. You can use warm water after the oatmeal has come off to remove the remaining residue.Oatmeal mask will leave your skin feeling silky smooth. Cornmeal will work the same way. There are other home remedies such as Mayonnaise, Peach and Banana Mash and evene lemon juice to hydrate your skin. There are so many uses for simple products that most people did not know they could they could use mayo on your face.Steam facials work well too. The steam will open your pores, they offer steam facials in salons and you can do this at home but be careful. Read as much information on a steam facial as you can before doing it. You don’t want to make it too hot.

Face packs for Oily Skin

Face packs for Oily Skin

In oily rind, oil producing glands are overactive. They produces much oil than is needed, which oozes upward, giving the rind an oily shine. Hormonal imbalances in adolescence reason oily rind. This character of rind is popular in teenagers. The oil secretion in rind increases during adolescent age and decreases as age advances. Hormonal instability may seem during pregnancy and menopause, which head to increase secretion of oil from oil glands of rind. This sort of rind too suffers from blackheads, pimples %26 acne. Oily rind is caused by over-active glands, which develop a content called Asebum, a naturally robust rind lubricant. When the rind produces overly more sebum, it becomes dense and thick in texture. It needs an exhaustive cleansing procedure to withdraw the surface dirt and unclog blocked pores. Facial packs that rely on natural scrubs are extremely effective as they clean skin deeply removing dead skin cells. Herbal face packs help smooth the structure of the epidermis. The dust and grime stick to the oily skin and make it look dull and lifeless. This type of skin needs special face packs made to remove the excess oil and keep the skin fresh and supple. There are lots of brands in the market that offer face packs for oily skin. Face packs bring necessary microelements on facial skin that help smooth wrinkles and soften skin. From mineral scrubs one of the most effective is a sea salt facial scrub. This scrub contains minerals of the Dead Sea that have a very good influence upon facial skin. For oily skin wash your face 2 or 3 times with soap and mix Mint juice with rose water and apply to your face and wait 10-15 min and wash with cold water.Toners make your skin feel fresh, taut and vigorously active. The simplest toner is fresh, pure water. Or even rose water-combined with witch hazel is good for oily skin. The qualities of skin are determined by tridoshas. The Dosha, which is dominant in skin, determines the type and quality of the skin. Peel apple skin and grate and squeeze juice from apple and add same quantity of lime juice and apply to your face. This is good for oily skin. To protect your face from day to day harsh damages we really do not have to spend whole day in front of our mirror instead we just have to be regular. It is also required that you do not use any face cream, lotion or gel which have heavy chemicals in it. Herbal face packs contain herbs that have a disinfecting effect such as chamomile. The usage of herbal face packs is simple. But before you begin, it’s recommended to give your face a steam bath. Oily skin needs special cleansing to keep the pores unclogged. A face pack not only cleanses your skin but it also helps to maintain the firmness of your skin and its balance. For an oily skin, mix the clay/kaolin, cornflower and oats together with one beaten egg white and floral water. Add 1 drop lavender oil and 1 drop frankincense oil or juniper berry oil. Mix well to form a paste and apply. There are now so many face packs on the market that sometimes people feel overwhelmed. These scrubs are different depending on a skin type. If your skin is oily, then you should choose a scrub for oily skin. Eat plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables-while avoiding oily and spicy food and go easy on sweets-that’s for those who have a smooth tooth. This is skin care that works from the inside.

Best Wrinkle Cream for Your Skin - What You Need to Know?

October 29th, 2008 by admin

The key to finding the best wrinkle cream is either to use them all yourself or read about the best wrinkle cream. The first is not possible, but you can achieve the second. What is important to know is which one is the best wrinkle creams according to testing? The best anti wrinkle cream will help you get rid of wrinkles without any side effects to you.

You need to look younger with fewer wrinkles. The best anti wrinkle cream will even reduce the black circles around the eyes. The cream should make your skin healthy and let it shine through. Your pores should not be clogged by it. If your pores get clogged then there is no point in having fewer wrinkles. Your skin stays unhealthy and that is not what you started out to achieve

Some creams increase the cellular action in the skin to reduce wrinkles. They fight against cellular deficiency and the skin is left healthy and smooth while fighting hormonal deficiency. The best wrinkle creams on the market have one thing in common. They all say they work. But what you have to see is that your skin being different from others has certain requirements that need to be fulfilled. For your skin and needs you might think a particular cream is good whereas your neighbor might find something else works better.

The best wrinkle creams sold are quite expensive; do not buy unless you are prepared to finish the treatment. No cream will work if you don’t do the whole course.

Treating Acne With Over-the-Counter Medication

October 29th, 2008 by admin

Treating Acne With Over-the-Counter Medication

Most cases of acne are mild and so it is common for people to treat themselves with over-the-counter non-prescription medications. If such medicines are used together with a good regime of skin care, then this form of treatment is often very effective. So just what sort of over-the-counter medications should you consider? One of the commonest treatments for mild acne, and one which is used by literally millions of people every day, is benzoyl peroxide which works in part by attacking the bacteria which is a factor in causing acne in the first place. It also works by removing dead skin cells which would otherwise block the pores of the skin and provide the ideal environment for pimples to develop.Benzoyl peroxide is not a new medicine and has been around for very many years now so that we have excellent evidence of both its strengths and weaknesses. Fortunately, it has few side effects although it can dry out the skin and will also ‘bleach’ fabric so it does need to be used with care. It also comes in various strengths (typically 2.5%, 5% and 10%) and it is important that it is used in the correct strength. Start at 2.5% and only move up in strength if this does not appear to be effective and you are not suffering any undue side effects. Many people believe that if a 2.5% strength will do the job then a 10% strength will work four times as well, but this is not the case.Salicylic acid is another commonly used medication and, as this is the active ingredient in aspirin, it is also a very safe treatment. Salicylic acid is often purchased in pad form and can help to break down both blackheads and whiteheads. In addition, it slows down the shedding of dead skin cells within the follicles which makes the build up and compaction of dead skin cells less likely. Finally, it helps to remove dead skin cells preventing a build-up of bacteria within the sebum, or skin oil.Salicylic acid should not be used alongside other treatments unless your physician or dermatologist recommends additional treatment, as this can cause skin irritation.A third option is resorcinol which can be useful in some cases, especially when combined with compounds such as sulphur. Resorcinol breaks down hard skin helping to remove dead skin from the follicles to prevent clogging and a build-up of bacteria. Rosorcinol should not be used with any form of astringent like alcohol.A final and forth option is alcohol and acetone, which many people would describe as an ‘old-fashioned’ treatment. Alcohol acts as a mild antibacterial and helps to remove oil from the surface of the skin, while acetone also acts as a degreasing agent to clean the surface of the skin. The problem however with acne is that the excessive skin oil which contributes to the problem of acne lies below the surface of the skin and it is here that, in the presence of dead skin cells, white blood cells and bacteria, that acne forms. As a result alcohol and acetone are of only limited value. One final point to note is that a treatment which works for one person will not necessarily work for another person and so, with the exception of alcohol and acetone which really should not be recommended these days, it is a question of trying each medication in turn for a reasonable period of time to find the one that works best for you.

Naked Minerals, the makeup that is actually good for your skin by Anastasia Ellison

October 29th, 2008 by admin

In a time where citizens are inundated with media articles and press reports describing the decline of air and water quality, educated consumers search to find products that provide safer, healthier advantages over conventional wisdom. Organic produce and all natural products tout the benefits of chemical-free lifestyles while still maintaining consistent quality. Although many of these products can be found in grocery stores and specialty food markets, few have found their way into the cosmetic aisle. Naked Minerals provides all the benefits of traditional cosmetics while improving skin quality with healthy, all natural ingredients.

Naked Minerals has only begun to find its place among quality, natural cosmetics and it will only continue to grow. Like other mineral makeup, Naked Minerals uses pulverized minerals and rocks to create a light powder that floats on the skin, creating a lightweight, natural look and feel. Since the powder in Naked Mineral cosmetics contains no additives, fillers, or binders, nothing is absorbed into the skin and pores are left open to let the skin breath. Because of this, Naked Minerals does not weigh down skin or look heavy. Instead, the minerals allow skin to regenerate and heal, providing a healthy atmosphere for cell development.

The natural ingredients in Naked Minerals provides an all-natural protective barrier against damaging sunlight while improving skin quality. The light layer of powder provides SPF 15 protection without the use of damaging chemicals. By floating on the skin, the minerals and mica protects the skin from ultraviolet sunlight while reflecting light in such a way that produces a look of radiance. This glow is a result of both light reflection and healthier skin. In addition to floating on the skin and allowing air circulation through the pores, Naked Minerals makeup contains skin-conditioning vitamin E and will not clog skin or flare acne. In fact, by allowing skin to breath while reducing the appearance of acne, Naked Minerals cosmetics creates an atmosphere in which blemishes can heal. Traditional pimple medicine and treatment clogs pores and increases oil production, causing even greater skin problems. Naked Minerals reduces the appearance of these blemishes while providing healthier skin conditions to promote healing.

Naked Minerals also provides relief from common skin conditions such as Rosacea, brown spots, dark circles, and sunburn. Not only will these natural cosmetics protect skin from continued sun abuse, but the minerals and powders even out skin tones, providing balanced color throughout the face. Naked Minerals skin products combine light reflecting powders that diffuse light around dark areas and create the appearance of smoother, younger skin while promoting healthier skin with each use. The versatility of each product provides a wide range of cosmetic use and skin protection in one small package. These products provide the radiant look while still maintaining healthy and natural beauty.

Acne Problems?

October 29th, 2008 by admin

When talking about skin care, the number one issue that always comes up is the problem with acne. Many people think that acne is only an issue with teenagers and adolescents, but studies show that even those past the adolescence stage can have major problems with acne due to many factors such as hygiene, environment, eating habits and genes. Acne can be caused by so many things that it would be impossible for people of all ages not to have it. Although what most people don’t know is that there are a lot of different types or kind of acne, more than ten classifications if I’m not mistaken and they are classified by age, cause, genes, gender, geography and race. For example, there is Adult acne, which can be caused by a diverse range of factors, such as hormonal imbalances, pollutants, elements related to stress and responses to medications of different kinds. On the other hand, there is also Acne Neonatorium is also commonly known as baby acne. It is caused by the transfer of hormones from mother to child, which stimulates the secretion of sebum in baby skin. You also have Acne Cosmetic, which as the name suggests, is related to the kind of cosmetics you may have used which perhaps did not agree with your skin. In this kind of acne, your skin and pores have reacted adversely to various ingredients contained in your cosmetics. And as it is possible to have acne die to a cosmetic reaction, there is also Acne Medicametosa occurs as a side effect of some medications. These include oral contraceptives, as well as other drugs that contain potassium iodide, potassium bromide and chlorine. As for the race and geography factor, you have Acne Keloidalis, which is generally found among people of African stock. Most of the eruption in this kind of acne is concentrated around the neck. For the gene factory, there is Acne Congoblata, which is normally caused by hereditary factors. This kind of acne causes severe scarring on the face and back. Worse still, there is not very much that you can do about it. And for gender, you have Acne Fulminans, a rather serious form of acne, in which the eruption is accompanied by fever and body ache. This kind of acne mainly affects males and erupts suddenly. Other symptoms of this kind of acne include a high white blood cell count, as well as loss of appetite and deep scarring. These are only some examples of the different classifications of acne.

Generally, different acne classifications, would entail different treatment methods and skin regimen. But if what you have is a severe form of acne, and you’ve tried almost any other treatment, one drug that has been tested and proven to prevent, if not stop acne altogether is Roaccutane. It is an ant-acne drug treatment mostly prescribed by doctors dealing with patients that are suffering from severe acne and has tried most other treatments with no success at all. It that has been successful in dealing with severe acne although its success has been somewhat shadowed by some grim reports and stories of some of its possible side effects which may included mental and emotional problems that may even lead to suicide. So always be careful, as with any other drug, Roaccutane may do wonders for you and your skin if taken correctly and with doctor’s strictest advise, but if abused and used in the wrong way, it may also bring about serious mental, physical and emotional issues that may even be harder to deal with than your acne problem.

Why You Should Use Steam for Acne Problems

October 29th, 2008 by admin

Why You Should Use Steam for Acne Problems
by James Briggs, Sr.

No matter how much research you have done or how many people you have talked to, it seems that you can never find an effect acne treatment program.

If youre feeling a bit frustrated, trust me, you most definitely have reason to be. Finding a treatment for your acne can take time and research.

Finding a treatment for your acne will take time, even though there are so many different types of treatments. Finding a cure that works for you will require patience.

You have probably heard of things like

- Washing your face with acne soap

- Drinking water

- Changing your diet

- Reducing the amount of stress in your life

If you want something that will fit into your acne regime, try out a steam room. As odd as it sounds, it works.

Steam is one of the best ways to help treat as well as prevent acne. If you havent tried it, you most definitely should.

Here are two reasons why:

1. Steam baths are able to enhance how much blood and oxygen is circulating throughout your body. This means that more oxygen and blood will go to the surface of your skin.

2. Steam is able to open up the pores in the skin to help get rid of any type of impurities that may exist. All this is done through sweating.

Basically, the steam room is a sweat bath. As silly as it sounds, it helps to clean your skin.

If you decide that you want to try out the steam room, you want to be able to soak up all of the benefits that it provides.

After sitting in the steam room, make sure that you shower right after you exit the room. You dont want to sweat and then leave all of the sweat on your skin.

If you dont shower, your skin will probably just reabsorb the toxins you sweated out.

This makes the whole steam room experience useless, doesnt it?

If youre on a set time limit or you dont have enough time to shower, you should dry your skin when a clean towel and shower as soon as you can.

Be cautious!

Just like with any acne treatment, you want to take some precaution before you get deeply into it.

If you have an acne condition that is extreme, know that a steam room can aggravate your already existing acne.

If you are concerned, you can easily talk to your doctor or a skin expert and found out if steam baths are right for you. You dont want to harm your skin!

Steam rooms and facials

When using steam treatment, you can choose just to do facial steaming, or you can choose to use a steam room.

Facial steams have proven to be very effective to help treat and prevent acne that occurs on the face.

However

When you think about it, steam rooms provide a bit more advantages. Instead of just cleansing the skin on your face, you can cleanse your whole body.

If you are able to have a steam bath 2 to 3 times a week, your body will be toxin free!
