Fashion & Cosmetics, Help For Those Who Ask, “What is the Best Anti Wrinkle Cream?”

October 26th, 2008 by admin

Suppose that you were an older adult, an adult who was about to blow out the candles on a birthday cake. What would you wish for? Maybe you would wish for help, help with answering this question: “What is the best anti-wrinkle cream?” Of course, if you relished the chance to appear older and wiser, then you might wish to find the answer to this question: “What is the best wrinkle cream?” How should anyone go about finding the answer to either of those questions? He or she might plan to study carefully the product label, the label on the various skin care items that line the pharmacy shelf. Common sense would indicate that anyone who is asking “What is the best anti-wrinkle cream?” should be familiar with the ingredients that are most often found in a product that has been designed to prevent wrinkles. Frequently such a product contains something called “naked minerals.” In fact, a product with a label that said “naked mineral free” would probably qualify as the answer to the question “What is the best wrinkle cream?” A product without naked minerals would do a poor job of preventing wrinkles. What are “naked minerals?” They are minerals that have only a passing effect on the cells that make-up what is referred to as the “surface skin.” Once they have been applied to the skin, “naked minerals” begin their journey down to the deep skin cells. Naked minerals penetrate past aging skin, the skin on the outermost layer of the body. Naked minerals do not try to perform “a miracle” on the aging and dying cells that the body looses each day. Naked minerals go to work on the deep skin cells, the cells that will eventually rise to the surface. Supplied with naked minerals, a top quality skin care product nourishes the deep skin cells. By nourishing those cells, the naked minerals prepare those deep cells for their trip up to the surface of the skin. At this point, a thoughtful reader might wonder why skin cells would need to be nourished by a skin cream. Wouldn’t a healthful diet supply the body with vitamins and minerals that have the ability to nourish the deep skin cells? In the past, the answer to that question would have been “yes.” In the past adults could obtain from available fruits and vegetables the vitamins and minerals that were needed by their deep skin cells. Today, however, even the most healthful diet does not always nourish the deep skin cells to the extent that it should. Today, the growing use of insecticides and pesticides has reduced the number of minerals in the available farm-raised products. That fact explains why the makers of skin care products now put “naked minerals” in their wrinkle-fighting creams. Now if a reader of this article chooses to stop reading at this point, and to look for a product that contains naked minerals, he or she should realize that that search has little chance for discovery of the perfect anti-wrinkle cream. Those who are asking “What is the best anti wrinkle cream?” need something more that a product with naked minerals. While naked minerals do fuel the creation of healthy skin cells, a cell that receives naked minerals does not get an automatic signal, a signal that calls for production of a certain vitalizing protein. Healthy skin cells contain a chemical that can stimulate the production of particular proteins. A product that fails to stimulate production of such proteins could be put forth as an answer to the question “What is the best wrinkle cream?” Such a product would encourage the formation of wrinkles. Such a product would not qualify for designation as a “top quality skin care aid.” Such a product would not stimulate skin cells to produce collagen and elastin. Those two proteins are found in all healthy skin cells. As skin cells age, however, they loose their ability to make collagen and elastin. A top quality skin care product helps cells to regain their natural ability to make collagen and elastin. Once cells manage to produce collagen and elastin, those cells regain their natural firmness and their natural flexibility. The face that has been treated with a quality skin care product has few wrinkles. The skin on that face copies an appearance of a more youthful visage. Vitamins – Just the Facts Please!

Vitamins – Just the Facts Please!

We all want to look good, feel good and feel energized. We search the stores looking for the miracle vitamin or supplement to give us good health and well-being. That being said, nutritional supplements, wellness products and vitamins is a multi-billion dollar business. We read the claims written on the bottles and take them to be the truth. We want the claims of “revitalization”, “promotes good health”, “builds strong bones” etc., to be true, even though most of the time there is no scientific data supporting the claims. When shopping for your next wellness product, such as vitamins, or nutritional supplements, consider the following guidelines:1: What kind of information is available on the ingredient specifications, safety and quality testing?2: Are the health and nutritional claims on the label (if any) based on anecdotal information or a scientific data?3: Are the products backed by published clinical research studies? If so, is the data easily accessible for review? Is the research study published and if so is the study peered reviewed? 4: Does the company invest in and operate their own research and development center and a food and nutritional supplement manufacturing plant? Shaklee does!5: Are there clinical studies on bioavailability (which means – does the nutrients in the product get absorbed into the bloodstream and how much of it is absorbed)? Is there published clinical research to prove the bioavailability of the product? For instance a simple test of Vitamin E 200IU was tested for delivery into the bloodstream. The results were as follows:Brand 1 .015 absorbedBrand 2 15.0 absorbedBrand 3 10.0 absorbedBrand 4 67.0 absorbedBrand 5 200 absorbed – Shaklee brandNot so sure about your brand, then try this-Send a letter to the company producing your current vitamin or supplement as follows: “Please send me whatever scientific research data on your product. I would like to receive independent scientific studies or articles that have been published in peer reviewed journals, supporting your claims on the product. It is important to me to know that I am using a product that is safe and effective. Thank you very much.” The response, if any, should be on that particular product(s) you are inquiring about, not just research on the nutrient in general.Above are just a few tips to consider when selecting your vitamin or nutritional supplement. A vitamin is not just a vitamin, cheapest is just that, and quality determines results.

Do cellulite creams really work? - The secret behind these magic lotions

Do cellulite creams really work? - The secret behind these magic lotions

There are two trains of thought about whether cellulite creams actually work or not. The first suggests that they don’t do a darn thing, while the other realizes that these aren’t miracle creams, but they do a half decent job of reducing the appearance of cellulite. If you’ve ever wondered if products like these actually do a darn thing then take a few minutes to read this article. We’ll cover what the key ingredients are, how they work, and what type of results you can expect. By the end of this article you should be able to answer the question yourself do cellulite creams really work? What are the key ingredients in cellulite creams? There’s a lot of talk about what exactly is inside cellulite creams. There is no magic potion, I can assure you of that. Most of the ingredients are topical items such as green tea extract, organic caffeine, and a variety of nut oils. Nothing that can cause you any real harm right? Well almost right, be wary of some products that are now containing aminophylline. This is a chemical that does not have extensive studies done on it, so use at your own risk. How do these ingredients reduce cellulite? It can be tough to understand how green tea, caffeine, and nut oils can reduce the appearance of cellulite. Sounds more luck a Star bucks menu then a cellulite cream. How ever after exhaustive research the current blend of ingredients in most cellulite creams tones and tightens the skin, which creates a smoother looking stomach, arm, or leg. While also penetrating the deep tissues and dehydrating fat cells that cause the dimple effect on our skin. Remember the goal of cellulite creams isn’t to actually get rid of cellulite, but rather reduce its appearance. Any change that flattens the fat cells, or tightens and smooths the exterior skin hides the appearance of cellulite. What kind of Results should you expect? This is always a tough question to answer. Why? Because different products provide different results for different people. The majority of people start to see results in as little as 3-4 weeks with a good quality anti cellulite cream. How do you know if you’re using a good quality cream? Easy, do a few searches for reviews of the product to ensure there aren’t massive numbers of complaints. The first thing that is noticeable is a change in the look and tone of the skin. This reveals a smoother flatter skin. The next stage is the actual deep tissue penetration that can result in flattening fat cells, how ever this second step doesn’t always revel better results. Often the changes to your skin reduce the appearance of cellulite enough. So should you be rushing out to buy the latest and greatest anti cellulite cream? I’d have to say yes, as long as you know what to expect. To many companies present these products as the cure for cellulite, when in fact that isn’t the case at all. So long as you understand that these products require continuous use to keep the effect they provide you should take advantage of their positive results.

Arthritis Pain Relief Using Glucosamine - Does it Work?

Arthritis Pain Relief Using Glucosamine - Does it Work?

If you’ve been looking for relief from the pain of arthritis, you’ll know that there are no end of people willing to sell you a “miracle cure”. It’s no wonder that many people become skeptical. But have you heard the claims being made for glucosamine? Here we investigate whether this could be a product worth trying.Glucosamine is a product that is naturally produced by the human body. It is also found in the exoskeletons of crustaceans (crab and shrimp-like creatures). It is claimed to have a role in the rebuilding of cartilage, which is the substance that surrounds the ends of bones in a joint. In osteoarthritis the cartilage protecting the ends of the bones in a joint becomes thinner, as part of a degenerative ‘wear and tear’ process. This can readily be demonstrated on X-rays of an arthritic joint. This process can lead to inflammation with resulting pain and lose of full movement. The typical drugs that are often used as a first line treatment for osteoarthritis will deal with the symptoms but not the underlying causes. They aim to reduce the inflammation and to control the amount of pain.So how is arthritis pain relief with glucosamine different? It is believed that glucosamine works by getting to the root of the problem. By helping to repair the cartilage in the joint, there should be a resultant reduction in inflammation and also in pain and discomfort for the patient. There has been a number of scientific studies carried out to examine the effect of glucosamine under controlled conditions. A number of these have had very positive results with patients reporting a reduction in symptoms. It seems to work particularly well in cases of mild to moderate arthritis. If you are interested in trying out glucosamine, ensure that you are using a good quality source from a reputable supplier. The generally recommended amount to take is 1500mg a day. This has been shown to be effective in patient studies. Taking a tablet that also contains chondroitin increases the effectiveness of the product.Unlike many herbal supplements, there is some evidence that glucosamine can achieve arthritis pain relief. It is widely available in easy to swallow capsules from health food shops and online suppliers.

Can you lose weight with this miracle cactus?

Can you lose weight with this miracle cactus?

Americans are the most self-conscience people in the world. It is easy to see why we are self-conscience of our appearance. Everywhere we go we are reminded of flawless airbrushed perfection on commercials, billboards and magazines. Foreigners are often astounded by how fat most Americans are. We love to eat yet want to look like supermodels. You can’t have your cake and eat it too! Luckily, some of our brightest scientists are hard at work developing additives and medications to help us lose weight. Once such dietary supplement is known as Hoodia. The History and Use of Hoodia Hoodia is classified as a dietary supplement as is not approved by Food and Drug Administration. The term supplement infers that the drug does not prevent or cure any illness. Just like vitamins, Hoodia is supposed to enhance your regular diet. Hoodia is a small cactus like plant that grows on the African plains near the Namib Desert in Angola and Namibia. There are 13 known species of Hoodia each with their own distinct medicinal properties. For thousands of years tribesmen in Africa have used Hoodia to starve off hunger during long hunts or periods of famine. Hoodia has also been known to have a calming effect on the body and can be used to treat indigestion or small infections. The supplement Hoodia helps consumers lose weight by tricking the brain into thinking the stomach is full. When the brain thinks the stomach is full it will not trigger the sensation of hunger. People lose weight simply by not eating. The Science Behind HoodiaHoodia has been marketed in the United States as a weight loss supplement for around 50 years but only in the past 5 years or so has the supplement gained widespread exposure. Of the 13 species of Hoodia, only Hoodia Gordonii is known to contain large amounts the appetite-suppressing ingredient known as P57. Almost all Hoodia supplements on the market are from the Hoodia Gordonii species. Consumers should always check the ingredients to make sure the active ingredient is P57 and is from the Hoodia Gordonii species. Any other variety will only cause a placebo effect. As of March 2008, there have been no scientific studies on humans to determine the effect of Hoodia. There have been some studies on rats with positive results. Some rats reduced their intake of food to the equivalent of 1000 calories a day in humans. However, researchers in the study agree that the drug is easily broken down in the liver and would take a large does in humans to produce a significant effect. The drug company, Pfizer, did a study on P57 and indicated that there were some unwanted components within P57 that could not easily be removed that would leave negative effects on the liver. Common Forms of HoodiaConsumers can find Hoodia in a variety of forms. Heavy mass marketing and popularity of the product has spawned off many new products. Hoodia can be found in tablets, capsules, liquid pills, coffee and tea products, protein and diet shakes, syrups, powders, energy bars and even lollipops.

Tapping Into the Gifts of an Autistic Child

Tapping Into the Gifts of an Autistic Child

Vallejo, CA – “September 9th, 1979,” recalls Barbara Coppo, “That’s the day when my normal baby boy suffered brain damage at 19-months-old from his D.P.T. vaccine and our world came crashing down. It has never been the same since.” Her son, Kenny, is now 29-years-old and cannot talk, be reasoned with and is helpless – unable to groom, dress, shower or wipe himself. But, she points out; there is an intellectual part of him that is genius.Coppo chronicles her family’s journey through Kenny’s life and her endless struggles to find help and programs to suit his many challenging needs in the new book, “The Boy in the Window: A Journey Through an Unexpected Tragedy.” The last three decades have been filled with Kenny’s seizures, uncontrollable behaviors and include a court battle – settled out of court in 1987 – with the drug company she holds responsible for his condition.“We were told by doctors and professionals to institutionalize him because of his extreme behaviors and inability to adapt socially,” reveals Coppo, who is 66 and credits daily exercise for helping her sustain the energy to care for Kenny. Coppo and her husband Ken, married 46 years, says an institution was never an option for Kenny, because his home is with them, “We love him so much in spite of his required 24/7 care.”At the age of 17, an aide working with Kenny at school exposed him to the computer and, by pointing to the keyboard, his thoughts could finally be conveyed. “An innocent and honest boy trapped in a severely damaged brain emerged,” Coppo emotionally recalls. She also proudly announces that Kenny is a math expert. In “The Boy in the Window,” Coppo details his ability to look at an extremely difficult math problem and point to the correct answer in seconds.“The ability and knowledge that someone like him can have is a miracle,” she continues, “but it’s a shame that it can easily be overlooked.” She credits the different aides who worked with Kenny over several years for helping to unlock his “uncanny abilities,” which can go way beyond the normal.Coppo says that Kenny has the gifts of telepathy and E.S.P. and details in “The Boy in the Window” how they were discovered and experienced by many of his aides, “It may be hard for some people to believe, but there have been too many incidents to ignore.” E.S.P. is almost a daily occurrence, for example, Kenny has a sing-song way of making a phone sound, “huh-ha,” seconds before it rings. In addition, sometimes during the night Kenny will leap out of bed, strip off his clothes, cry out and his parents can’t get him back in bed. She further explains, “We have it documented that at the same time these episodes happen, someone he’s close to is having out of the ordinary problems.”Coppo offers one more anecdote, “Kenny is a routine kind of guy, to put it mildly!” Everyday at 6:00pm, he and his father go for a drive, and it has to be the exact same route, going the exact same direction. “One day, they are about to enter the freeway on the same ramp they always did, but Kenny grabbed the steering wheel forcing my husband to take another road.” Upon returning home, they turned on the news, another daily habit, and a special report was covering a massive accident that happened at the exact place Kenny had steered them away from earlier.“To this day, my husband feels Kenny saved a possible disaster from happening to the two of them,” shares Coppo. She then asks, “Is it unrealistic for an autistic child, who is betrayed by their own senses, to develop that ‘sixth sense?’ Much in the way a blind person has an enhanced sense of smell or hearing?”Despite his extraordinary gifts, Coppo still worries about her nearly 30-year-old son, “He can read minds and solve incredibly hard math problems, but if our house is burning down, he wouldn’t have the common sense to get the heck out and would probably resist our efforts to rescue him.” Most times, she admits, he’s his own worst enemy. “I was once told by a psychologist that I would eventually grow to resent my son from the burden of raising him,” Coppo candidly reflects. “While I cry over my worries for Kenny, the truth is I love him more each day.” Adding, “My mysterious son has taught me the true value of what is really precious in life and what is worth fighting for. I guess that makes him the best gift I could have ever gotten.”

Moringa-The breast feeding supplement

Moringa-The breast feeding supplement

Many people across the world are learning about the enormous health benefits of Moringa. Moringa is a fast growing tree that produces leaves and fruit pods that are consumed as a highly nutritious food. The nutritional density and diversity of Moringa has deemed it the “Elixir Tree” or nature’s most nutritious food. The nutrients in this miracle from nature have been reported to treat over 300 different diseases and disorders of the body.Aside from the obvious health benefits exhibited by Moringa, mothers around the world have been using it obscurely as a natural way to increase breast milk. The natural constituents of Moringa leaves and fruit pods are nature’s answer to helping mothers produce copious amounts of highly nutritious milk for their infants. The term given an herb or food that increases the flow or production of breast milk is galactogogue.Moringa has been clinically proven to increase the production of breast milk whether it is consumed before or after the birth of a baby.Mothers who took Moringa were shown to produce more than 2x the amount of breast milk than those who didn’t. We all know instinctively that breast milk is the ultimate food prescribed by nature for the infant child and Moringa can be instrumental in helping mothers produce more of this precious food. The health benefits of Moringa are legendary and it would not be hard to figure that it could be an important step for any potential mother to consider taking Moringa to supplement their nutritional needs thus passing on to the growing fetus critical nutrients that are vital to a healthy baby at delivery. The importance of certain nutrients during the gestation period (notably folic acid for the prevention of spina bifida) solidifies the need for a food supplement that gives the body a complete array of nutrients in a safe bio-available form. Also mothers who took Moringa during pregnancy have experienced being able to produce milk much quicker after delivery verses those mothers who didn’t. It’s very important for the newborn to get vital nutrients such as good fats (DHA and EPA) for brain development, immune system protectors, digestable protein, the amino acids argenine and histidine plus many others as soon as possible to start the process of total body development. Nothing is better at supplying those nutrients than breast milk fortified from a mother taking Moringa.Babies that are breastfed have been proven by research to be far healthier across all spectrums because breast milk offers all the nutrients their growing bodies need during the first 6 months. Breastfed babies have much improved immune systems, less allergies, better digestion, greater intelligence and the list goes on and on. Why wouldn’t any mother or mother to be, want to give their bundle of joy the absolute best that they can give, even if it meant having to use a breast pump and storing the breast milk in the fridge for later use? The use of Moringa by the mother would create the ultimate breast milk made even more nutritious by the vast array of vital nutrients naturally available to the mother. To put it simply, if the mother is granted better health by ingesting Moringa ,all of her healthy benefits are passed on to the baby for a future of better health.Moringa leaves and fruit pods are truly nature’s greatest compilation of vital nutrients for total body health. It is a virtual panacea of health benefits unmatched by any herbal or food supplement that I have seen in over 30 years of studying natural medicine (for my own health). Moringa’s universal application, efficacy, low price and safety makes it the most perfect food supplement for the youngest to the most senior citizen. Health foods major, Grenera Nutrients has launched a new product called Yelixir combines all the attributes of Moringa leaf and fruit pods in an economical powder and capsule form. Yelixir is the low cost alternative to vitamin pills and the over priced - hyped up health products on the market. Find more information on all natural - organic Yelixir at: http://www.yelixir.com

The Human immune system

October 25th, 2008 by admin

The Human immune system

Today, there may be no person who may not be aware of the functions of immune system. However, there certainly are lots of people who don’t know about immune system in the real way. It means that it’s only the general definition that circulates everywhere as people are just aware of the fact that immune system is responsible to protect to you from diseases. However, there is an entire process and a system that includes different things which forms this amazing and spectacular miracle of nature. When you talk about nature, there is another term that is worth mentioning pertaining to immune system. This is the innate immunity which can be considered as the natural power to fight with all those harmful germs. Human immune system comes with different level of protection for which there is different types of immunity and innate immunity is one of those types. When it comes to human immune system, innate immunity plays an important role in protecting human body. It basically is the most basic level of protection that all of the people usually posses. In human immune system, innate immunity can be taken as the very first line of defense. That is one of the reasons that skin can also be considered as a part of this human immune system. There are different cells that work in the most effective way to heal all of your scars and other such cuts. This is the type of innate immunity. However, that’s not the only thing that can be seen in human immune system as it is much more sophisticated. Adaptive immunity is another thing that can be seen in human immune system. As the name implies, it is one of those types of immunity that human body acquires over time. This is the type of immunity that keeps on going through evolutions. It always acquires new information to tackle new threats. It actually is that type of immunity where human immune system becomes aware of the previous attack of a specific germ or organism and assists in talking the situation in a better way. This adaptive immunity makes human immune system stronger which produces stronger immune response to tackle certain germs and threats. Memory cells also play an important role in adaptive immunity. It can be considered as the second line of defense for body.Apart from these above two types of immunity, you can also find a third type as well which is known as passive immunity. Passive immunity also plays a role in human immune system, but, the role of passive immunity can be considered as limited. This type of immunity can be seen in infants and this is considered to be a borrowed immunity as in the case of infants who borrow temporary immunity from mother. So, it is important for infants and can have a serious impact on children, in general. As a whole, this can be said that human immune system is complicated. It is extremely difficult to explain in simple words, but, the basics will remain basics and all of the complexities revolve around these basics.

Fat Loss Programs and Frequently Asked Questions

Fat Loss Programs and Frequently Asked Questions

Once you start a fat loss program, there are various questions that may arise in your mind. Two very common questions that comes to almost every fat person who concerned about losing their extra fat are - In how many days will all my excess weight be reduced? In how many days will my body become proportionate? There are some true facts that we all should know before proceeding to main topic. Many people do not care for their body for a number of years and allows fat to accumulate. Then suddenly, they get impatient and want to get rid of those layers of fat overnight. They are generally not interested in reducing 4 to 5 kg in a month. They want to achieve a miracle of reducing 8 to 10 kg in a month! The first thing that we have to bear in mind is that we have to discard only the excess fat from our body and protect other useful cells of the body and not become a victim of malnutrition. It is indeed very difficult to give an accurate estimate of the exact rate of weight-reduction. In some cases, in the beginning, the amount of water and fluids in the body goes down quickly and therefore it appears that the weight is reducing fast. But after 3 or 4 days the rate of weight-reduction decreases. The balance of the mineral sodium in the body also affects the rate of weight-reduction. Generally the carbohydrates keep under check, the process of elimination of sodium from the body. During the course of dieting, as the carbohydrate intake decreases, the sodium begins to get eliminated from the body. Along with itself, sodium eliminates water from the body and consequently there is a weight loss. But afterwards when the elimination of sodium decreases, the rate of weight reduction also decreases. In short, the high rate of fat loss in the beginning is illusive. It slows down afterwards. However, this slow rate is maintained afterwards. We must bear in mind that fat has not to be reduced for some immediate or short term gain. Proper weight is a life time necessity and therefore maintaining the reduced weight is more important than the rate of reducing to weight.
