Dermatitis Treatment Tips
Dermatitis (eczema) is inflammation of the upper layers of the skin, causing itching, blisters, redness, swelling, and often exude, scabbing, and scaling. Dermatitis affects about one in every five people at some time in their lives. It results from a variety of different causes and has various patterns. There are different types of dermatitis, including seborrheic dermatitis and atopic dermatitis (eczema). Gravitational dermatitis arises on the lower legs of the elderly, due to swelling and poorly functioning leg veins. Nummular dermatitis may be set off primary by an injury to the skin: scattered coin-shaped irritable patches persist for a few months. Though the disorder can have many causes and occur in many forms, it usually involves swollen, reddened and itchy skin.Dermatitis can be acute or chronic or both. Acute eczema (or dermatitis) refers to a rapidly progress red rash which may be blistered and swollen. Chronic eczema (or dermatitis) refers to a longstanding bad-tempered area. It is often darker than the surrounding skin, thickened (lichenified) and much scratched. Atopic dermatitis is one of the most common skin diseases, affecting between 9% and 30% of children or teenagers in the United States. Almost 66% of people with the disorder develop it before age 1, and 90% by age 5. Irritant contact dermatitis occurs when chemicals or physical agents damage the surface of the skin faster than the skin is able to repair the damage. Seborrheic dermatitis is a skin disorder affecting the scalp, face and trunk causing scaly, flaky, itchy, red skin. It particularly affects the sebum-gland rich areas of skin. It may occur during times of physical stress, travel or in people who have neurological conditions, such as Parkinson’s disease. In infants, this disorder is known as cradle cap. Treatment of dermatitis varies, depending on the cause. Chronic treatment with topical corticosteroids may lead to permanent skin changes, such as atrophy and telangiectasia. Pimecrolimus is a new anti-inflammatory cream shown to be very effective for atopic dermatitis, with fewer side effects than topical steroids. Apply an emollient liberally and often, particularly after bathing, and when itchy.Wear soft smooth cool clothes; wool is best avoided. Antihistamine tablets may help reduce the irritation, and are particularly useful at night.Dermatitis Treatment and Prevention Tips1. Avoid contact with substances that cause the skin rash. 2. Wash any area that comes into contact with allergic substances.3. Wear soft smooth cool clothes.4. Hydrocortisone lotions and creams may help soothe your skin. 5. Apply a topical steroid cream or ointment to the itchy patches for a 5 to 15 day course. 6. Pimecrolimus is a new anti-inflammatory cream shown to be very effective for atopic dermatitis.7. Antihistamine tablets may help reduce the irritation, and are particularly useful at night.

A Look At Treatments For Herpes
People have a stereotypical idea that hrpes simplex is a disease definitively acquired through sexual contact, but it’s not quite true. Ordinary direct contact with the skin may also account for the transmission of herpes virus. Many people still believe that the herpes virus can be transmitted with the touch of ordinary objects such as toilet seats. Although the idea of that happening is extremely unlikely because of the weakness of the virus itself. The herpes virus is passed through small breaks in your skin, mucous membranes or layers of your skin in your mouth and genitalia. Keep your skin healthy plays the role very good protective barrier against the herpes virus. When it comes to mucosal layers of the skin, even the smallest damage is largely to expose the nerve endings in which the herpes virus entwines itself. This is the main reason why herpes usually manifests itself in areas where the mucous layer of the skin and normal skin mergers. A good example is the corner of your mouth. The virus is reputed to be adopted by sharing razors with an infected person. Unlike toilet seats, the virus can survive in wetlands between the blades. The virus can also be transmitted from mother to child during childbirth, however, most cases show that babies get herpes after birth. The virus can be classified as oral and genital herpes. The oral herpes is caused by the herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV-1). They are commonly known as fever blisters or cold sores. Fever blisters are often regarded as small, clear, fluid-filled blisters on your face. These normally appear on the edge of your lips. Genital herpes, are different, and is due to HSV-2. This form of herpes is recognized by itching, painful sores in the genital area. patients who normally have the virus do not realize they are infected because it manifests no symptoms. The virus can be so small that it may go unnoticed. Most cases reported noted that the first outbreak was the worst. Many patients never get the new virus, and some get it again after a very long time. When someone has the virus, whether on the mouth or near the genital area, you will notice the presence of tiny red bumps, blisters, open wounds or on the infected area. These red bumps will be very itchy and / or painful to touch. These open wounds will break and begin to cry, and one day turn into scabs who heal on their own. There is no real cure for this virus, only preventive measures for possible outbreaks. Antiviral on the counter as acyclovir treatment and other medications help reduce the symptoms and repetition of cold sore recurrence. Suitable for care of open wounds before and after the eruption May help reduce the pain you feel May during outbreaks. Admitting herpes outbreaks are not entirely related to sexual contact, often if you choose to do business with different partners the opportunity of infection is increased. Knowing the risks should help you make your choice a little more wisely. And you’re living in an era where an outbreak of herpes may be the least of your worries.

Ringworm of the Skin - Home Treatment
Ringworm is the most common fungal skin infection seen in cats. Contrary to the name, ringworm is caused by a microscopic group of parasitic fungal organisms known as dermatophytes (which means “plants that live on the skin”). Ringworm invades the dead, outer layers of the skin, claws %26 hair. Ringworm is often a misdiagnosis for other conditions, especially numular eczema and pityriasis rosea.Remember that athlete’s foot is unusual in preteen children. These children often have Juvenile Plantar Dermatosis or a contact dermatitis when they have an itchy red rash on their feet.Ringworm is only mildly contagious, so children undergoing treatment may continue to attend school or daycare. In addition to infected people, you can get ringworm from infected cats and dogs. So examine your pets if someone in your family develops ringworm. Wash the rash with soap and water, remove flaky skin, and dry thoroughly. For large areas of blistered sores, use compresses such as those made with Burow’s solution (available without a prescription) to soothe and dry out the blisters.Apply antifungal cream beyond the edge or border of the rash.Follow the directions on the package. Don’t stop using the medicine just because your symptoms go away. You will probably need to continue treatment for 2 to 4 weeks.Shampoos/Dips: Lime sulfur dips are the most effective. Sometimes clipping the cat (especially longhaired cats) is recommended to increase the effectiveness of treatment %26 also decrease environmental contamination. The cat must not be allowed to lick it’s coat before it dries as this can cause vomiting. Bathing should be done every 4 - 6 days for approximately 2 - 4 weeks. Lime sulfur dips can cause yellowing of the coat, this however will fade in time. Anti-fungal creams can be purchased for this infection, and are usually combined with a mild antiseptic and a mild steroid to reduce your itching. Keeping the infected area clean and well aired plays an important role in healing this infection. If your over the counter treatment fails, or the infection is widespread, you should see your doctor. He can prescribe you some oral medication such as fluconazole. The first order of business with treating this is for the person to avoid self-diagnosis and to get a correct diagnosis from a doctor. Treatment for Ringworm is either topically or orally. Several medications are clotrimazole and miconazole and ketoconazole and terbinfine (Lamisil cream and lotion) which are creams that comes in many brands. These medications are often good for foot fungus also. Oral medications are itraconazole and fluconazole and contrary to popular belief these are not harmful to the liver.Israel compensates for ringworm treatmentThe Israeli government has announced that it will give financial compensation to former patients with ringworm who were given radiation treatment and who then developed cancer. In common with other countries, Israel treated patients with ringworm over four decades ago with high dose radiation. Now the Israeli government–while insisting that radiation was then a “treatment of choice” for the fungal disease–has decided to compensate these victims or their dependants financially.

Defining the differences between various types of skin care treatment that use lasers.
Here I only want to provide unbiased, simple explanations of what some of the different options are when it comes to laser skin resurfacing and how they work.
There have been significant advances in facial skin care and the use of lasers for the purpose of skin rejuvenation. What seems to be getting a lot of attention these days is Fraxel or fractional non-ablative skin type of skin resurfacing. That’s a mouthful isn’t it? Once those words are understood it is becomes quite clear. So let’s start with fractional. What that means here is that only a portion or fraction of the skin in the treatment area is receiving the laser in very thin slice like beams. This method penetrates quite deeply and leaves microscopic areas untouched while simultaneously penetrating the skin in these slices. The next word, non-ablative, is best understood by understanding ablative of course. Ablative means to surgically remove, so here we’re talking about no removal of tissue. Basically then this procedure uses microscopic laser beams to make multiple shallow slices into the skin. The purpose then is to damage the skin to stimulate a healing response and therefore promote collagen formation resulting in plumper skin and less wrinkles.
Another type of laser facial skin care, or skin resurfacing is laser ablative resurfacing. Since we know ablative means to remove, what this procedure does is essentially remove the top layers of the skin, thus injuring the skin, with the result being replacement of these top layers with new skin. This type of skin care treatment probably sounds painful, and make no mistake it is, plus recovery time can be lengthy.
The next type of laser skin resurfacing would be a method using a little of both of the previously mentioned methods. This is called fractional ablative where microscopic slices of the top layers of the skin are removed. This method is used to cause less of the skin to be damaged making it less painful and shorten recovery times.

The Chemical Face Peel - Potential Risks and Complications
The chemical face peel sounds like some type of torture treatment you would see in a science fiction movie. In truth, this type of procedure does use chemicals to strip away layers of facial skin. But it goes beyond science fiction. It is a common cosmetic procedure used by thousands of people each year. But it has certain risks as well, and that’s what we will talk about in this article. Let’s start with the basics of what this procedure is and how it works. How Does a Chemical Peel Work?As mentioned, these treatments use certain types of chemicals to remove outer layers of the skin that may be damaged. The idea is that, by stripping away the outer layer, a smoother and more youthful layer will emerge. In most cases, the facial peel consists of three different chemicals used together. They are phenol, trichloroacetic acid (TCA), and alphahydroxy acids (AHAs). While the exact formula may vary from one practitioner to the next, these three ingredients are typically present for most procedures. What Are the Risks? This is not a surgical procedure, in the sense that there are no incisions involved with the process. But it still has potential risks associated with it. For one thing, a local anesthetic is sometimes used with some of the deeper chemical peel treatments. This brings up the possibility of an allergic reaction, and other complications that are commonly associated with anesthetics. With that being said, it’s only a local anesthetic (meaning you won’t be put under completely), so there is less risk than with a full / general anesthetic.A Deeper Treatment is RiskierGenerally speaking, the deeper the treatment the higher the level of risk. While a deep chemical peel will often produce the best results, it also comes with a higher level of pain. The reason for this is that a higher concentration of chemicals is used. As you would imagine, this can increase the level of discomfort during the procedure and can also lengthen the recovery time. The deeper procedures typically have a 2 - 3 week recovery period, before the skin is normal again. Also, face peels are typically not recommended for people with dark skin tones. The reason is that hypo-pigmentation, or a permanent lightening of the skin tone, may occur. There are additional risks for these treatments that may be specific to the individual patient, such as allergies. Always seek medical advice of a doctor or dermatologist before undergoing a procedure of this type.

Do you know who has the best natural skin care cream? Is it Neutrogena, Estee Lauder, Ultima, Avon, or Unilever? I’ve used a lot of skin care products, and it’s none of the above. The best skin creams actually come from a little known company in New Zealand. Listen to why I believe this to be true. Most Products Contain Few Active Ingredients In Very Low Quantities They set out to make the best natural skin care cream after evaluating hundreds of other products from major manufacturers around the world. They learned that most of them contained few active ingredients in such low quantities that they could not possibly be effective. Most Companies Do Not Follow Dermatologist Recommendations According to dermatologists, the best skin creams protect, moisturize, heal and help prevent serious conditions, such as skin cancer. But, most manufacturers do not abide by dermatologists recommendations. Some Creams Actually Contain Carcinogens They use petrolatum and other byproducts of the gasoline industry. The lotions are likely to be contaminated with carcinogens and hazardous heavy metals like lead and mercury. Artificial Preservatives, Fragrances, and Chemical Compounds Cause Serious Damage They use artificial preservatives and fragrances, the two most likely causes of allergic reactions. They use chemical compounds that cause serious and irreparable damage to the outermost layers of the skin. Some Ingredients Are Included Even When The FDA Has Issued Warnings Hydroquinone, for example, can cause the appearance of black bumps all over the face and body. It’s found in lotions intended for lightening age spots and blemishes. Even though the FDA has issued warnings concerning the use of the product, it has not been removed from the market. Use Creams That Are Safe Enough To Eat The best skin creams contain nothing that could cause allergic or adverse reactions. No chemical contaminants that could cause cancer or other health problems are included. In fact, all of the ingredients are actually safe enough to eat. Use Creams That Restore And Protect The New Zealand manufacturer that set out to make the best skin creams followed dermatologist recommendations. They include ingredients that restore skin cells and provide protection from infection, inflammation and irritation. They include plant oils that moisturize, as well as honey and witch hazel to soothe and heal. Use Creams With No Artificial Ingredients Antioxidants The best natural skin care cream contains a number of effective antioxidants. They are so effective that there is no need to use any other preservatives for the plant oils. The only fragrance is the light scent of the natural extracts. Nothing artificial is added. Vitamins Coenzyme Q10, a vitamin-like substance, and natural vitamin E, as well as plant antioxidants known as bioflavonoids are all included in their best skin creams. They have a complete line of products for women and men. Natural Extracts They have deep cleansing masks that contain extracts from clay to soak up excessive oil and literally pull dirt out of the pores. They have deep hydrating masks that are almost completely absorbed after 20-30 minutes. No other product penetrates so thoroughly and quickly. They include a new extract from sheep’s wool that has been shown in laboratory studies to relieve dermatitis and increase hydration by 22% after 24 hours. Most lotions increase moisture initially, but the effect is lost without reapplication. It’s worth your time to look for the best natural skin care cream, that is, if you want something truly effective. Prepare to be shocked at how certain ingredients affect your skin and body. Looking for Consumer Reports on Anti aging Face Creams?
There are a lot of anti aging face products, lotions, treatments and more that are supposed to reverse the effects of aging in the face and regenerate the skin tissue. The problem nowadays is that there is a lot of misinformation and confusion on what really works and what not.A good place to start your research is on consumer reports, you will be able to read other peoples reviews, opinions and experiences of different facial products. Some professional consumer reports can actually cost a lot of money, but you can also find some useful information free on the internet. You can do a simple search on google for “brand name” review and you will read the different opinions from other consumers. You can also search for skin care forums and search for posts that talk about product reviews. There are a few things that you should always look for in an anti aging product:A good anti aging product should have in its label all the ingredients it uses. You should check out that the ingredients of the product are natural or organic and that they do not contain harsh chemicals. There are some synthetic ingredients that you should avoid in any anti aging product like: Acylamide, Alcohols, Fragrances, Mineral oil, Parabens and Padimate-o.Avoid products with collagen, because collagen on it self can not penetrate the layers of the skin. On the other hand what you should do is buy a product with ingredients that will stimulate the growth of collagen in your skin. One of the most important recommendations i can give you is that any facial product that you buy should be made of 100% natural ingredients. In the US there is no regulation or restrictions on what chemicals skin care products can use, so be aware.

Women are especially concern about their facial look, but one thing that affects every men and women at some point are dark circles under the eyes. For some people that might not be very important, but did you know that nothing makes you look older than bags and dark circles under eyes?Well, the truth is that although there are many anti wrinkle creams in the market that claim to help reduce wrinkles and bags under eyes, most dont work effectively or are dangerous to the eyes due to the chemicals they use. However, what you should be looking for is a natural cream for reducing your dark circles or bags, that means that it should only contain natural ingredients and vitamins proven to produce positive results in clinical trials. There are some effective products for treating bags under eyes that are not creams but contour gels, but the important thing is that they contain the powerful natural ingredients that your skin needs to regenerate it self and reduce puffiness. For example:Eyeliss which was formulated in Europe is usually very expensive and has been a closely guarded secret of celebrities. It dramatically reduce bags under the eyes and smooth wrinkles.Haloxyl has been proven in clinical trials to achieve wonderful effects when combined with Eyeliss.Other important natural ingredients are:CynergyTk that sitmulates the growth of collagen and elastin.Coenzyme Q10 which penetrates the seven layers of the skin and is very effective in destroying free radicals. Also natural vitamin E and Manuka Honey are great for putting new life around your eyes.So my recommendation is that if you are going to buy a cream for dark circles under eyes or gel, make sure that it is made of natural ingredients and contains potent anti oxidants.

Dont Buy Anti-wrinkle face creams unti you read these Tips
When women start to enter their thirties and some fine lines or wrinkles start to become visible they become desperate and look for anti wrinkle solutions that will help them quickly prevent the formation of more wrinkles and get rid of the ones they already have. However in their desesperation for an anti-wrinkle face cream, they dont do their proper research and find reviews of the product, so they end up buying just one of the most popular advertised creams that claims to have the magical anti wrinkle formula. The sad truth is that is not that simple to improve the appearance of photo-damaged skin and protect your skin from future signs of aging. If you want to properly revietalize your skin you need to give a proper natural care to your skin and also use a good wrinkle cream. The major problem is that 99% of the wrinkle creams on the market contain harsh chemicals, that means that they are made of synthetic ingredients that in most cases hurt the skin. Sometimes the side effects will not be visible right away, but for other people that have a different type of skin redness, inflammation and irritation can become a problem. Some of the ingredients that you should avoid in a skin care cream are alcohols, fragrances, mineral oil, parabens, petrolatum and more. Those substances have hard toxins that penetrate they layers of the skin and produce free radicals that hurt your skin tissue and thus produce wrinkles.Instead eliminating lines, wrinkles and improving fimness and elasticity should be a natural process that means that you should take proper care of your skin, but that you can also help your skin produce the necessary substances that it needs to improve its skin appearance.Collagen and elastin are responsible for our skin elasticity and firmness, there are some natural ingredients such as Cynergy TK that stimualtes the growth of collagen and ealstin in our body, thus making the process natural and safe for our skin.Anti-wrinkle face creams can be very effective if they are natural, if they contain anti oxidants, if they dont have harsh chemicals and if they have been proven in clinical trials over and over again before being exposed to the market.

Acne Prevention: How To Get Rid Of Acne With Salicylic Acid (Willow Bark Extract)
Salicylic acid is a more-or-less common treatment for acne. Despite its name, some dermatologists classify it as a natural acne treatment. It is made from willow bark, and was apparently known to the ancient Greeks as early as 5th century BC. Salicylic acid, or at least its original willow bark extract, was also known to other ancient civilizations like Sumeria and Assyria for its medicinal properties. Even the native Americans like the Cherokee used it for its pain-killing property and as a cure for fever and other ailments. Today, modern man uses it as one of the treatments for acne.Of course, in our modern civilization, we no longer need to process the willow bark ourselves. We can just buy the refined part of it, salicylic acid, over-the-counter. So, how does salicylic acid work as an acne treatment? Basically, it acts as a peeling agent, sloughing off the outer layers of the skin. As such, it helps to open pores and unplug follicles. An important point to note is that usage is preventive. In other words, you apply it to skin which is at risk of acne in order to prevent pimples from forming. Applying salicylic acid to your pimple after it forms is like locking the barn after the animals have run away. Once the pimple forms, you should be using something else like benzoyl peroxide or tea tree oil to get rid of it. Remember: apply salicylic acid continuously to prevent acne.If salicylic acid is so good for acne prevention, why doesn’t everyone use it? Simple. It is known to irritate skin. A normal acne treatment regimen includes the use of non-oily moisturizer to soothe your skin after you apply the salicylic acid. Given this, it is better for you to be patient and careful and start at the 0.5% concentration of salicylic acid. Only if you do not get the effect you want should you slowly start raising the concentration. If you start at the upper end of 2%, you could find yourself in pain, much like the after effects of a bad sunburn. The key is regular use at lower concentrations. If 0.5% everyday causes redness, then reduce it to 0.5% every two days. If two days is too often, reduce accordingly, and so on, and so forth.Despite its 3000-year old roots, not everyone can use salicylic acid, even if you only apply it on your skin. Apparently, pregnant women and children should avoid it due to the risk of Reye’s syndrome. Ditto for people who have kidney disease, liver disease, diabetes or poor circulation. Anyway, here is the normal acne treatment regime using salicylic acid: Wash face with a gentle cleanser Gently pat your face dry with a clean towel (Do not rub your face dry. This will irritate your skin and possibly cause worse acne) Wait 5-10 minutes for your face to dry in air Apply salicylic acid cream or lotion over your face, avoiding the eyes and lips Wait for the cream or lotion to dry Apply non-oily moisturizerThere may be some differences depending on the brand of salicylic acid lotion or cream you use.
