Is there an Anti Wrinkle Botox cream Alternative?

Over the last decade regular people have become more aware of the different surgical treatments that celebrities and super models have used for a long time to keep their skin young and smooth even at their 50s.Many people have been trying to find the anti wrinkle secret of celebrities, there are no great secrets but they do use cosmetic surgery treatments to recover their youthful look as well as anti wrinkle creams. One of the most popular treatments is Botox. Botox injection paralyzes the muscles of the forehead therefore preventing your from making any kind of expression that will show wrinkles in your forehead. This treatment has shown to be effective in many cases but it does not last, is not something natural.Botox only last for 3 to 6 months and then you need to have the treatment again in order to continue without wrinkles. However as you have more botox treatment your skin starts to become more immune to the treatment therefore being less effective. There are some anti wrinkle products that claim to be an alternative to botox while being non invasive, but in most cases that is not truth or their claims are over hyped. However there are some anti wrinkle botox alternatives that although might not have the instant effect that botox have they can gradually reduce wrinkles and make you look younger naturally and the effects will last for a long time to come.A great natural anti aging cream should target the main causes of aging that are:Decline of hyaluronic acid productionLower levels of collagen and elastinAnd Oxidation due to free radicalsIf a skin cream can target those problems then it can rejuvenate your skin effectively and without any surgical intervention. Anti oxidants should also be an integral part of any effective cream that protects your skin from free radical damage.

The Next Vitamins by Mark Ransome

October 29th, 2008 by admin

Vitamins A, C, E and quasi-vitamins Coenzyme Q10 and alpha lipoic acid are powerful antioxidants that neutralize the damage caused by free radicals and oxidation. Our body’s cells are undergoing a continuous cycle of oxidation (losing an electron) and reduction (gaining an electron). Oxygen and other atoms or molecules that are unstable because they lack an electron are called free radicals. These free radicals don’t like to exist in an unstable state and will steal another electron from where ever they can and can damage the cell that they oxidize. Free radicals are created as part of the body’s normal metabolic process and if there are insufficient antioxidants available to donate electrons and neutralize the free radicals then cell damage will result. When we are young, the body generates some of the antioxidants it needs and it acquires the remainder from the food we eat. As we get older, the body generates fewer antioxidants and the free radicals outnumber the antioxidants. This means the body is unable to repair the free radical damage and it ages and becomes subject to age-related degenerative diseases like cancer, diabetes, heart disease, strokes, Alzheimer’s disease, and macular degeneration. Additional free radicals are created when we expose our body to the sun’s ultraviolet radiation, cigarette smoke, exhaust fumes and other air and water pollutants. Approximately 10 million people in North America have cancer and about 600,000 people will die from it this year. Until recently, we thought the key to slowing the aging process and associated diseases was to ensure the body had an excess supply of antioxidants by eating lots of fruits and vegetables and supplementing our healthy diet with multi-vitamins.

For years we assumed it was the vitamins in fruits and vegetables that provided us with a defense against aging and age-related diseases. We also wanted to ensure we had an adequate supply of vitamins so we took low dose once-a-day-type multivitamins for insurance. However long term studies have shown that low dose multivitamins had no impact on the survival of healthy people. Recently scientists have theorized that the health benefits due to eating fruits and vegetables may be from other nutrients such as phytochemicals or the combination of phytochemicals and vitamins. Phytochemicals or phytonutrients are simply “plant chemicals” that exist in fruits, vegetables and other plants like whole grain and tea. Scientists have already discovered thousands of phytochemicals and think that as well as being powerful antioxidants these phytonutrients provide our body with an entire range of health benefits. A few examples of foods, the phytochemicals they contain, and their health benefits are discussed below.

Blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, cranberries and other berries contain the phytonutrients anthocyanidin and ellagic acid which are antioxidants that can suppress cancer and protect against heart disease. Berries are also rich in soluble fiber which should lower our cholesterol. Citrus fruits such as oranges, lemons, limes etc. contain flavanones such as limonoids which help stimulate the body’s enzymes to detoxify carcinogens. These citrus fruits also contain carotenoids which are powerful cancer fighting antioxidants and flavonoids which are antioxidants that may inhibit blood clotting.

Cruciferous vegetables like broccoli, brussel sprouts, kale, cabbage, cauliflower etc. contain indoles which act to make estrogen less potent and which may reduce the risk of breast cancer. These vegetables also contain isothiocynates such as sulphoraphane which may neutralize cancer-causing chemicals and interfere with tumor growth. Orange and yellow fruits and vegetables like apricots, papaya, sweet potatoes, carrots, sweet peppers, etc. and leafy greens such as spinach contain carotenoids such as beta carotene, lutein and zeaxanthin that are powerful antioxidants that should suppress cancer, strengthen the immune system and reduce the risk of atherosclerosis. These colorful foods are also rich in Vitamin C, other vitamins, minerals and fiber and should reduce the risk of macular degeneration.

Non-traditional healthy foods such as tea, wine and soy have also been found to be high in phytonutrients. Both green tea and black tea contain flavonols which combat cancers and catechins which may protect arteries from the buildup of plaque. Red wine contains resveratrol which may prevent internal cell and skin cell damage, inhibit tumor growth and lower blood cholesterol. Other phytochemicals in red wine are flavonols like quercetin and catechins, anthocyanidins and ellagic acid which were discussed earlier. Soy products contain isoflavonoids, lignans, saponins and protease inhibitors which can all provide cancer protection.

Products to combat aging and degenerative diseases are being developed. Both Pfizer and Merck are testing drugs to stimulate the older body to make more growth hormone and develop more lean muscle mass. Controlled studies on seniors are showing a lot of promise. Phytonutrient supplements like lycopene and beta carotene have been available for some time. The next supplements based on groups of phytonutrients that target specific conditions are already being marketed. How effective they will be remains to be seen. For now we should concentrate on obtaining our phytonutrients from our healthy diet and monitor developments in the pharmaceutical and nutritional supplement industries.

Discover Your Anti Aging Skin Care Review

October 28th, 2008 by admin

Ever wondered how to understand what is the best way to keep your skin healthy and looking good? Every day we are bombarded by ads promoting products from big name skin care companies. The fact is, they are more interested in moving their product than in helping pick what works best for you. This anti aging skin care review will help you understand what contributes to skin damage, and learn what works for you in an anti aging skin care system.

What are the major causes of aging skin?

There are three major causes for premature skin aging.

The first is loss of collagen and elastin. These proteins help to support the skin and help your skin retain its youthful shape.

The second cause is the loss of hyaluronic acid. This acid helps hold together the collagen and elastin fibers to support firm and elastic skin.

The third cause is free radical damage. Free radicals invade skin cells and disrupt the normal growth and renewal process.

What ingredients to avoid?

Since the big companies spend most of their budget on promotion and advertising, they don’t have as much money to develop high quality ingredients. Here are some often used cheap ingredients to avoid:

Mineral Oil

Parabens

Petroleum based glycerin

Alcohols

Fragrances

Best features of an anti aging skin care system

You want to get the most benefits you can from your anti aging skin care system. A high quality system should meet several of these key features:

High concentrations of active ingredients – don’t settle for large quantities of synthetic fillers and inert ingredients

Collagen and elastin growth triggers – ingredients like Cynergy TK to promote growth of these key proteins for healthy skin

Antioxidants – To stop free radical damage, Coenzyme Q10 in a special nano lipid form can penetrate deeply through the skin layers to moisturize and combat free radical damage

Natural moisturizing oils – Plant based oils such as babassu oil and grapeseed oil provide rich moisturizing action for thirsty skin cells

Kelp extracts – Wakame is made from Japanese sea kelp, and helps your body maintain high levels of hyaluronic acid for strengthening collagen and elastin in your skin

Final Thoughts

So there you have it, the three essential parts of an anti aging skin care guide

The causes of aging skin

Worst ingredients to avoid

Best ingredients to look for

By reading this guide you will be head and shoulders above most consumers. With this knowledge, you will be well prepared to find the antiaging skin care system that works best for you!

Glycerin and Seaweed Benefits

October 27th, 2008 by admin

Glycerin and Seaweed Benefits

Sun radiation and pollution are major sources of free radicals and even though you can protect yourself from UV rays and other contaminants you can’t protect yourself 24/7. Free radical forming elements are constantly present, as a matter of fact, the very same oxygen we require to live is a strong source of free-radical damage. Thus antioxidants are state-of-the-art components to look for when shopping for skin-care solutions, and there are dozens available (with no clear-cut “best” choice among them).

Some ingredients found in Nature contain antioxidant powers that contribute to repair damaged cells and protect our organism against free radicals. Among them are glycerin and seaweed, mentioned below.

Natural Ingredients Help Fight Free Radicals

Glycerin is a humectant. This implies it has the ability to capture water right from the air bringing it next to your skin and promotes the retention of water. It helps improve the skin’s defences by reinforcing the intercellular matrix and attracts just the right amount of water to keep the skin’s homeostasis whilst helping the other skin lipids work better. Glycerin is a derivative of the saponification process of vegetable fatty acids.

A wide range of compounds help skin retain water (moisture). Glycerin is one of the more usual and efficient water-binding elements used in cosmetics. Some water-binding elements can imitate the skin’s actual composition and can be of benefit in a formulation; these include amino acids, collagen, glucose, proteins, glycogen, sucrose, fructose, sodium PCA, polysaccharides, phospholipids, hyaluronic acid, sodium hyaluronate, glycerine, ceramide, lecithin, glycosphingolipids, elastin, cholesterol, mucopolysaccharides, and glycosaminoglycans. No single one of these is chosen over the other because even though they are all efficient, none of them can permanently change the original structure of skin.

Seaweed is the name normally used for various types of sea algae. Seaweed extracts include cellular glyconutrients and trace minerals. They promote skin hydration as well as tightening the skin. Seaweed also has anti-inflammatory abilities, toning, re-mineralising and rejuvenating actions.

Algae, in its hundreds of varying forms, are well-known antioxidant ingredients and have been around for a long time. Algae show anti-free radicals or antioxidant abilities (Sources: Journal of Agricultural Food Chemistry, February 2002, pages 840-845; and Annals of the New York Academy of Sciences, 2004, pages 219-222).

Furthermore seaweed component is odor-free, non-irritating and non-allergic. It boosts the softness and moisture of both hair and skin. More concretely it impedes oxidative degeneration of collagen and hyaluronic acid, which in turn can help to smoothe out wrinkles and fine lines: a welcome anti-aging ability.

An interesting element in algae is Fucoidan, a type of glyconutrient that is being developed as a especial type of nutraceutical. The main efficient ingredient in Fucoidan is the fucose, one of the eight essential biological sugars. It has been included in the diet of Okinawa islanders for centuries and is believed as one of the reasons why the region has one of the world’s highest rates of longevity.

Natural Antioxidant Ingredients found in skin products control the aging process

October 27th, 2008 by admin

Natural Antioxidant Ingredients found in skin products control the aging process

Yes, it is true, antioxidant skin products can prevent premature aging. To understand how this is possible I will offer you a little background.

Free radicals are defeated by natural ingredients found in antioxidant skin products. But, what are free radicals, and how do they affect the skin? As you probably remember from your old high school days sitting in your chemistry class, atoms are formed by a nucleus, neutrons, protons, and electrons. Electrons are very important in the aging process as they react chemically, bonding atoms together to form molecules. Your skin is altered by environmental factors such as sun exposure, and when this occurs, the bonds become weak and eventually split, leaving a free, unpaired electron. Now, it takes an electron from the nearest secure molecule, turning into a free radical.

When it loses its electron, the molecule which has been attacked becomes a free radical, as it has to search for other stable molecules to steal from. This forms a chain reaction. As free radicals grab electrons from your body molecules, the molecules are left with an ‘electron hole’. These holes allow all the unwanted elements which harm our living cells. This is where antioxidants appear.

The natural skin ingredients found in antioxidant skin products protect our skin from free radicals protecting our skin from possible damage. If antioxidants aren’t available, free radical damage will build up with age, resulting in the breakdown of collagen, the aged appearance of skin and loss of skin elasticity. How are free radicals defeated? When, antioxidants are present, they end the ‘electron stealing’ chain reaction by giving an electron to the molecules that have been affected by these free radicals. Does the chain reaction carry on as antioxidants are left with one less electron? No, this does not occur with antioxidants. They don’t follow the electron stealing chain reaction because they remain stable in either form, with or without the electron.

What are the Advantages of using an Antioxidant Skin Product?

They contain Vitamin C and E. These vitamins help prevent cell and tissue damage. When applied to the skin, the antioxidant skin product helps to maintain the skin healthy and improves cell function. It also prevents sun damage which contributes to the aging of the skin. Moreover, recent studies have shown that skin products containing antioxidants have a positive effect on reducing skin irritation and inflammation. As you can see,the advantages of antioxidant skin products are numerous and invaluable as they keep your skin in good condition and vibrant, and most importantly they reduce and prevent, premature aging and wrinkles. The next time we become worried afer looking at the mirror and finding an extra wrinkle, we must remember that antioxidant skin products are essential when looking after our skin, especially the prevention of premature aging.

Protect your Joints, Connective Tissues and Arteries from Free Radical Damage with Cherry Fruit Extract

October 27th, 2008 by admin

Protect your Joints, Connective Tissues and Arteries from Free Radical Damage with Cherry Fruit Extract

Cherry fruit extract contains organic compounds known as flavanoids, which is a form of phytochemical frequently found in highly colored fruits and vegetables. If you eat a fruit such as pomegranate, blueberry, blackberry or cherry, or if you eat red peppers, aubergines and broccoli, you are eating foods that are rich in flavanoids.Such foods provide you with remarkable health benefits that your ancestors knew about but did not understand. They ate these highly colored foods because they knew they helped prevent certain medical conditions, and to help others get well faster. They knew nothing about phytochemicals – chemicals contained in plants – or flavanoids, but knew about the results of eating them. In fact, flavanoids are very powerful antioxidants and anti-inflammatories, and each of these require more detailed explanation since between them, oxidants and inflammation are responsible for most of the non-infectious common ailments of the human body. First, let’s have a look at antioxidants. In chemical terms oxidation is the removal of an electron from an atom or molecule. There are species within your body known as free radicals whose sole purpose in their short life is to steal an electron from the nearest molecule to them. This is almost instantaneous, and most free radicals are very short lived. The concept of free radicals roaming your body and your bloodstream waiting to pounce on the first unwary molecule is a fairy tale. In fact the vast majority react as soon as they are formed. When they do react, they remove an electron from a stable molecule, render it unstable and thus destroy it. If that molecule is part of a cell, and enough of them are robbed of their electrons, then the cell is destroyed. One result in visible terms is wrinkling of your skin, as your skin cells become destroyed, and hence you age quicker. In terms that you are not immediately aware of, oxidation can lead to many unwanted changes in your body. For example, the low density lipids, that carry the cholesterol in your blood to areas of the body where it is needed, are oxidized by free radicals which causes the LDL to deposit along with their cholesterol on the walls of your arteries as a layer of plaque. Eventually that will build up to constrict the artery and cause a condition known as atherosclerosis – the arteries become blocked, and you can suffer from heart attacks and strokes. These free radicals are formed by the normal metabolism of the body when energy is created in the cell mitochondria, by pollutants such as pesticides, cigarette smoke and traffic fumes, and by radiation such as excessive exposure to the UV radiation in sunlight. Flavanoids, contained in cherry fruit extract, are antioxidants, which prevent this oxidation of body cells from taking place. They do so by being in the right place at the right time. If a flavanoid molecule is close to a free radical when it is generated, then the antioxidant will reduce the free radical and neutralize it. If you eat a lot of cherries, or drink cherry fruit extract, you will be consuming a massive amount of flavanoids molecules that are ready and willing to destroy these free radicals. However, that is not all that flavanoids do. They are also, as has already been stated, anti-inflammatories.The inflammatory response is the reaction of the body to a foreign presence such as bacteria. The tissues around the infected area receive an increased blood supply, and the cell walls produce gaps allowing the large immune system blood cells, or macrophages, to pass through. The temperature around the area increases due to the concentration of blood, and this itself is controlled by the body since bacteria die off after a certain body temperature has been reached, hence the reason for fever in the immune response. The area swells up due to the concentration of fluid and protein, and becomes painful due to pressure on nerve endings. Anti-inflammatories, such as the flavanoids, work to relieve the symptoms of inflammation without interfering with the way the immune system deals with infection. Many inflammatory conditions occur without any apparent reason, and while anti-inflammatories might not be used to suppress the immune system, it is used in such conditions as rheumatoid arthritis where the inflammation is a mis-firing of the immune system. Cherry fruit extract can be used to alleviate many similar conditions such as gout, and osteoarthritis where its use is well known and recorded. It can also be used to help reduce the effects of atherosclerosis through its anti-oxidant properties, and cherries contain, not only a good supply of flavanoids, but also anthocyanins, another group of powerful antioxidants. They also contain vitamin C which is also a strong antioxidant. Another property of flavanoids is their collagen strengthening properties, which they achieve by cross-linking the fibers to form a string fibrous network. That can be used to strengthen the walls of veins, and render them less liable to stretch or expand, thus providing them with the rigidity needed to prevent varicose veins caused by the puddling of blood below weak valves. They have the same effect on arteries, providing increased strength and a reduction in the blood pressure needed to pump blood round the body.A good intake of cherry fruit in your diet will help to improve the condition of your cartilage and other connective tissue in addition to your veins and arteries, and is particularly appropriate for athletes who place great stresses on connective tissues such as the tendons that transfer muscular energy to the levers – the long bones. In summary, then, cherry fruit extract and the flavanoids and anthocyanins it contains, posses properties to help relieve the symptoms of gout, and various forms of arthritis, to reduce the likelihood of cholesterol oxidation that leads to heart disease and strokes, to help strengthen the walls of veins and arteries and to improve the strength of connective tissue such as cartilage and tendons. In other words, to improve the quality of life of the majority of the population that suffers from one or more of these conditions. After learning about the health benefits of cherries and all the mounting evidence in research, my question to you is why did the FDA make cherry farmers pull the health benefits of cherries from their websites with threats of legal action if not removed? Makes a person wonder who is on our side and who isn’t?

Curcumin – The Most Powerful Antioxidant

October 26th, 2008 by admin

Curcumin – The Most Powerful Antioxidant

Turmeric (Curcuma longa), a member of the ginger family, is a traditional Indian curry spice. It is also used as a yellow food coloring and has been used in traditional medicine in India and Ancient Egypt for at least 6000 years.

Several natural substances have greater antioxidant effects than conventional vitamins, including various polyphenols, flavonoids and curcumenoids. Natural substances are worth further exploration both experimentally and clinically. Curcumin is an antioxidant extract from the spice turmeric that produces a wide range of health benefits. Recently, many studies on health benefits associated with curcumin have been reported. In the present study, an attempt has been made to test individual curcuminoids, such as curcumin, bisdemethoxycurcumin and demethoxycurcumin, for their antioxidant activities by in vitro model systems.

Water and fat-soluble extracts of turmeric and its curcumin component exhibit strong antioxidant activity, comparable to vitamins C and E. Study showed curcumin to be eight times more powerful than vitamin E in preventing lipid peroxidation. Taken in group arrangements such as C-complex, curcuminoids are three times as potent in neutralizing free-radical molecules. Curcumin has the ability to reduce oxidative stress. curcumin’s role as an antioxidant have the ability to down regulate nitric oxide formation where Nitric oxide is a key element in inflammation and may contribute to carcinogenesis.

Curcumin, also known as diferuloylmethane, it is a powerful anti-inflammatory and antioxidant, and may help prevent the development of a variety of conditions related to oxidative and free-radical damage, including cataracts, heart disease, and cancer. Cancer patients should be taking 2000 mg to 4000 mg a day of curcumin extract with a heavy meal. In a wide range of cancer cells, curcumin has been shown to induce cell shrinkage, chromatin condensation, DNA fragmentation and block cellular signal transduction, all of which are characteristics of apoptosis.

Apart from antioxidant property curcumin plays an important role in Alzheimer’s disease, it is a powerful detoxifier, its anti inflammatory, anticancer and antioxidant roles may be clinically exploited to control many diseases.

Grenera Nutrient is an integrated Company that deals with managing the turmeric fields to the production of value added curcumin products. For further information and purchase of curcumin products visit http://www.greneracurcumin.com

How to Lower Your Blood Pressure Naturally With Three Lifestyle Changes

October 26th, 2008 by admin

How to Lower Your Blood Pressure Naturally With Three Lifestyle Changes

Your cardiovascular system is the driving force behind Cellular Nutrition. Over 100,000 miles in length and equipped with nearly six-trillion endothelial cells, your blood vessels produce the Nitric Oxide that supports Cellular Nutrition. Endothelial-derived Nitric Oxide functions in many important ways to support the cardiovascular and circulatory system and will help to lower your blood pressure naturally. Endothelial damage, from a poor diet, obesity and lack of exercise, results in deficient Nitric-Oxide production and, therefore, increased risk of cardiovascular disease. Fortunately, there are easy ways to make your endothelium healthy by adjusting your diet, engaging in moderate exercise and taking a Nitric-Oxide Supplement. How does Nitric Oxide work?Nitric Oxide, also known as NO, is the body’s most widespread signaling molecule. NO promotes Cellular Nutrition by facilitating blood flow to every cell in the body. Because NO expands the diameter of the arteries, more nutrients are delivered to the cells and more waste products are removed from the cells and this contributes to lowering your blood pressure naturally. Nitric Oxide provides Cellular Nutrition to all organs of the body and also protects these organs against injury and disease caused by exposure to oxidants, a condition known as “oxidative stress.” NO is the body’s most potent antioxidant, protecting cells against free radical damage. In this regard, NO functions just like Vitamins E and C. NO deficiency and Endothelial Dysfunction cardiovascular disease are the leading cause of morbidity and untimely death in the U.S. The diseases resulting from NO deficiency include hypertension, stroke, atherosclerosis, heart attacks, diabetes, Alzheimer’s disease, gastrointestinal ulcers and erectile dysfunction. A healthy vascular endothelium is essential to a healthy cardiovascular system because it is required for normal NO production and action. Vascular-endothelial dysfunction leads to decreased NO production and increased oxidative stress, creating a vicious cycle that promotes further endothelial dysfunction. Diet improves heart healthAnother way to keep your endothelium healthy is through diet. A sensible diet that is low in fats and carbohydrates, but rich in proteins, will go a long way in promoting cardiovascular health and lowering blood pressure naturally. Decreased fat intake greatly reduces the body’s production of destructive free radicals and decreased dietary carbohydrates limit the intake of calories. Eating a high-protein diet maintains muscle mass and energy levels. The combination of high protein plus low carbohydrates and fats can result in substantial weight loss, which further promotes a healthy cardiovascular system. A winning combinationThe three lifestyle changes outlined–mild to moderate exercise, a high-protein diet, and a Nitric-Oxide supplement have something in common: they all play a role in enhancing the production and action of endothelium-derived Nitric Oxide. For this reason, exercise, diet and a Nitric-Oxide Supplement are a winning combination for maintaining and improving your endothelial health–and a healthy endothelium means a healthy heart. When you combine their results, you can easily see how your overall health and general well-being can improve.

6 Tips to Living Longer: Balancing Your Body’s pH

October 26th, 2008 by admin

Scientists armed with a mounting body of evidence and research from across the world are waging war on what they claim is the biggest killer in the West–an overly acidic body.
The theory goes that whenever the body burns fuel it creates acidic toxins as a by-product. Many scientists now believe that high build-ups of these acid wastes can be a primary cause of chronic disease, overweight and aging.
Live longer by following these six simple tips to re-balance your body’s acid-alkaline levels (%26quot;pH%26quot;):
Live Longer Checklist
–Drink ionized alkaline water–Eat an acid-neutralizing diet–Exercise–Reduce stress–Stop smoking–Drink during air travel
HEALTH BENEFITS OF ALKALINE DRINKING WATER AND DIET
Various studies reveal that a balanced body pH has been shown to:
–Reduce heart disease in a town in Finland by 22%–Reduce insulin dependence in North American type 1 diabetes patients by 83%–Reduce arthritis pain, linked to chronic build-up of uric acid–Reduce risk of cancer (cancer cells flourish in an acidic environment)–Slow the aging process. Aging starts when the body stops getting rid of internally generated wastes and toxins.
Studies and research suggest that even mild acid-waste build-up can cause:
–Cardiovascular damage, including the constriction of blood vessels and the reduction of oxygen — so important for healthy cells–Weight gain, obesity and diabetes–Bladder and kidney conditions, including kidney stones–Immune deficiency–Accleration of free radical damage, possibly contributing to cancerous mutations–Hormone concerns–Premature aging–Osteoporosis: weak, brittle bones, hip fractures and bone spurs–Joint pain, aching muscles and lactic acid build-up–Low energy and chronic fatigue–Slow digestion and elimination–Yeast / fungal overgrowth
TIP 1 - DRINK ALKALINE WATER
Each cell in your body can only function as well as the fluid it is surrounded by — like a fish in a bowl. So the cleaner and less acidic the liquids in your body are, the healthier you’re likely to be.
Considering that the body eliminates acidic waste through body liquids in four different ways — respiration, urination, perspiration or defecation, the key to good health means:
–Drink enough of the right type of water to hydrate the body properly–Drink ionized alkaline water — studies show it’s twice as effective in flushing out acid toxins as bottled or filtered water–As you get older, total water to body ratio decreases, making elimination harder. So you need to drink more.–Same thing goes for when it’s hot. Drink more.
TIP 2 — DIET
Changing your diet can significantly reduce the level of acidity in your body. But if you can’t cut out acid-producing foods, it’s even more important to drink alkaline water.
Eat more of these foods that neutralize acidity in the body:
–Leafy greens and most veggies–Most fruits including citrus–Polyunsaturated fats found in seed oils (flax and hemp), fatty fish (seabass, tuna, mackeral, trout, salmon), coconut milk and avocado–Okay proteins include chicken breast, tofu, and many seeds
Eat fewer acid-producing foods like:
–Animal protein (beef, chicken, pork and eggs)–Dairy products–Vinegar–Soy sauce–Mushrooms–Corn–Sugar–Alcohol–Coffee–Peanuts–Pasta
TIP 3 — EXERCISE
Being overweight has nothing to do with fats or calories, according to some authors like Dr. Robert Young, author of the pH Miracle for Weight Loss. He believes putting on weight can be traced to a build-up of acid waste — if it isn’t eliminated, it parks on your hips, buttocks and elsewhere, so you get fat. Try the following instead:
–Exercise makes you sweat and breathe harder — both processes eliminate toxins.–Saunas also make you sweat. Take one often.–Don’t over-exercise. This causes a build-up of lactic acid that the body can’t eliminate, so it’s deposited as fatty tissue.
TIP 4 — DON’T STRESS
–Relax. Anger and hostility have been shown to increase stomach acidity, which can lead to peptic and stress ulcers, or ulcerative colitis.
TIP 5 — STOP SMOKING
–Smoking also increase stomach acidity–If you do smoke, the more acidic your body, the stronger your nicotine craving will be.
TIP 6 — DRINK DURING AIR TRAVEL
The air inside airplane cabins is super-dry (less relative humidity than the Sahara desert), and can result in extreme dehydration, increased acidity and jet-lag.
–Drink at least 8 oz (quarter liter) of water for every hour you fly, especially long-haul frequent flyers.
