I Used to Suffer From Genital Warts

It’s not everyday that I sit around thinking about genital warts, but I can assure you that on this particular day I was. And it was while I was pondering about just what it was that someone would want to know about genital warts, when it came to me that it might be a good idea if you, the reader, were to have a background picture of why I came to write about this topic in particular. Genital warts is not something that is readily spoken about, and it’s definitely not something that you would even think about writing in the normal course of events. Could it have been because I, myself, suffered from this potentially embarrassing and particularly bothersome problem? Or maybe I knew someone who suffered from these unpleasant genital warts. Then again there’s always the possibility that I’m an experienced, or even budding, member of the medical profession and just couldn’t keep all this information to myself! So without further ado, here it is in all its glory: I used to suffer from genital warts. In fact I was a recurrent sufferer up until very recently. I didn’t find any miracle cure to stop my genital warts, and it wasn’t, at least for me, one particular remedy that worked. It was instead a combination of a number of methods which I had tried over the years. Obviously not everything worked, but when something did, I made a note of it and used that in conjunction with other treatments. Finally I was able to get rid of my genital warts, and to this day it’s been two years since I had a recurrence. So I thought I’d share my knowledge and experience with fellow sufferers. As I know in the battle of genital warts, every little helps. That’s why I’ve included most of the remedies which I’ve tried and a few which I’ve been told work like a charm. You might be wondering why I would bother to mention any of the remedies which didn’t work for me, after all if they didn’t work for me, why should they work for you?A funny thing happens though when people try out any type of genital warts remedies. Some people find the remedies work for them, others find that it does nothing whatsoever for them, and still others find themselves reacting adversely to them. So before we go any further I would like to caution you to first do one of two things before you try these genital warts remedies. Either, Consult with you doctor beforehand to find out if these genital warts remedies are safe for you to try, or if they will in anyway react with any other medication that you might be taking. and/ or Read any labeling and information carefully, follow directions exactly, and first do a small test to see if you’re allergic to whatever remedy you’re trying out. After that’s taken care of you should then be able to proceed with whatever cure or remedy you had in mind. Just remember that it’s also a good idea to keep a small log of the genital warts remedies that you’ve tried so that you don’t go through the same ones all over again, and so that just in case you do suffer from an adverse reaction then all of the information needed is at hand. Doing this will also help you to make sure that you don’t mix ‘n’ match any remedies!

Why Penile Warts is Not Something that is Readily Spoken About

Simple Tips for Fibromyalgia Sufferers Trying to Claim Disability by Hailey Harris

October 15th, 2008 by admin

At the moment of writing this article, there is not an entry in the Social Security Disability Listing for Impairment for the condition Fibromyalgia. Nor is there for its other names commonly used such as fibromyositis or Myofacial Pain Syndrome. Getting denied of claims is quite common ground for Fibromyalgia patients, but this doesn’t have to be the case.

There is hope for the fibromyalgia patient who needs to claim disability. Many fellow sufferers have gone on to win their cases, you likewise can. The trick is to pursue the claim of disability through the appeal process.

After a person files at the Social Security Office, the case is transferred to DDS, an agency responsible for making the decisions on Disability. Once it is in this agency, the claim is assigned to a specialist who then makes the determination to approve or decline the disability claim.

So why is it so hard to get approved for disability when fibromyalgia is so disabling? Well, the reasons are many. SSD will generally give very little weight to this condition because the condition is not well understood. Your chances get even less when there is not another condition that is accompanying it such as arthritis or some degenerative disease.

Part of the problem is also that the causes are not fully understood and symptoms can range from mild to severe, from one patient to the next. This is why it helps if Fibromyalgia is diagnosed in conjunction with another diagnosis. This is because Fibromyalgia will be seen more legitimately and logical if it is an extension of another “more real” diagnosis.

Another factor is who makes the diagnosis. A diagnosis coming from a Rheumatologist will hold much more weight than if made by a family practitioner or an internist. The label of a specialist holds more umph when it comes to decision time.

This, of course, is no fault of the fibromyalgia sufferer, but there are some tips you can follow to increase your chances of winning your case. The chances of winning are improving as more information about fibromyalgia comes out. So let’s get to the tips for a winning case.

If you want to claim Fibromyalgia for your disability make sure that it has been diagnosed and is in your medical records. If a doctor merely mentions fibromyalgia as a possibility without diagnosing it and charting it, you could be out of luck. So, make sure it is in your medical records.

Make sure that you have been diagnosed by a specialist. If your family doctor makes the diagnosis, have a specialist such as a rheumatologist give you the same diagnosis. Like previously mentioned, diagnosis from a specialist will hold more weight.

This sounds brutal but try not to be diagnosed with Fibromyalgia by a mental health worker. Psychiatrists and those in the mental health arena sometimes overdiagnose patients with Fibromyalgia and so it does not look valid to the SSD agents. If you are diagnosed by a mental health provider, make sure that you are also seen by a specialist such as a rheumatologist to validate the diagnosis.

Be informed and know what’s in your records. Make copies of everything. It is well known that social security disability cases are decided on records. This holds true for all levels of administration that your case will flow through. By obtaining copies of your medical records before you apply, you will have an idea of how your case looks to the decision makers and help you know if you need to see another doctor before applying.

These simple tips will help you in your fight to win your disability case. Fibromyalgia disability cases can be won and the more that do the easier it will get for our fight.

Create a Longer, Leaner Body With Pilates

October 15th, 2008 by admin

Many women do not like weight training for fear of bulking up.  Unlike men, most women want soft features and toned bodies without bulging muscles.  For some of us, the high-energy gym atmosphere just isn’t our thing.  Others prefer to engage their mind as well as their body.  If you are looking to create a toned body through low-impact exercises in a more serene setting, Pilates may be for you.  The gentleness of Pilates makes it popular for those who feel intimidated by a gym setting.  But make no mistake, this doesn’t mean that it’s easy. Pilates was invented by Joseph Pilates in the 1920s to help fellow sufferers at internment camps in Germany.  It is based on six principles: Centering, Control, Flow, Breath, Precision, and Concentration.  The focus is on core strength, which is why Pilates is known for its ability to flatten abs.  All moves in Pilates are based on a few fundamentals that are simple to do.  The focus is on precise movement instead of number of repetitions as in strength training.  And also unlike lifting weights, Pilates works several muscle groups at one time while always engaging the core muscles.  This is why alignment, breath and precision are so important. Because precision is a guiding principle of Pilates, movements are modified depending on your fitness level.  This means that anyone can participate and work their way up to more advanced versions of a movement once they build up their endurance.  The most important are the basics, which teach alignment of the spine and ribs, how to hold your abdominal muscles, and breath control.  These form the foundation for all other mat work and must be mastered first.  Not holding your abdominal muscles correctly will keep you from getting the flat abs you want. Even though movements are gentle and flowing, Pilates can be used for weight loss.  You may not experience the same type of quick weight loss you would with other methods, but this is because you are developing lean muscle, which weighs more than fat.  You will notice a tightening of the body, and clothes will probably become looser.  Many like to measure their weight loss in terms of inches instead of pounds, since they are more concerned with how they look than what they weigh.  Make sure you follow a balanced diet.  If hunger is a problem, use a supplement meant to suppress appetite like hoodia.  This craving stopper has no side effects and is milder than others with caffeine or other chemicals.
