Hypnotism and Fat Loss Program

Once you have decided to reduce your weight or burn extra fat, the first thing that generally comes in your mind is that you have now to start dieting. This is the very common thinking that comes to almost all the people who are concerned about losing their weight. But is dieting so simple? You will be surprised to know that about half of the people fail to follow diet plans at the initial stage of their fat loss program. Here will discuss the causes behind such failure and how we can deal with such situation. Many of us try to seek, in food, a solution to our psychological problems or adversities of life. Also sometime we are not able to resist the temptation to eat tasty food in spite of the fact that we are fully aware that obesity is a dangerous disease. The treatment of obesity through hypnosis can be helpful in both the situation. Many psychiatrists resort to hypnotism in the treatment of obesity. First of all, the psychiatrist takes the fat patient into a state of sub consciousness.Thereafter, the person is given a post-hypnotic suggestion that after recovering from the consciousness his liking for sugar, biscuits, sweets, cake and other carbohydrates would disappear and subconscious mind of the patient grasps those suggestions. After recovering from the hypnotic state when he goes home, he finds that he has developed an aversion for the above-mentioned carbohydrate foods. He is, thus, able to exercise dietary control easily and that helps him in reducing his weight. This process of giving post-hypnotic suggestion has to be repeated from time to time. As long as the effect of the suggestions lasts, the patient has no problem in dieting. However, if the effect of the suggestions becomes too intense, sometimes the patient may develop an aversion to food altogether and this might lead him to starvation. However, such a situation generally does not arise. But, it is more desirable that the patient himself faces his problems and tries to solve them. Dieting under the hypnotic suggestions is a passive act and the patient has no active participation in it.However, in rare cases, where a patient is suffering from a psychological disorder or is unable to reduce his weight due to his weakness to resist the temptation to eat, hypnosis can be employed under the care of a proper expert. And it is only the expert who can decide in which case hypnosis is necessary and in which case it is not necessary.Disclaimer: This article is not meant to provide health advice and is for general information only. The Five Phases of Cellulite Formation That You Should Know

October 28th, 2008 by admin

Many women are aware that the orange-peel appearance of the skin is known as cellulite. This pesky skin problem, which is more common in women than in men, is something that ladies over the age of 20 are struggling to keep off. Since body shape and size do not matter when it comes to cellulite, it is quite hard to determine what causes this cottage-cheese appearance of the skin.According to figures, over 95% of women have this pesky problem. And many are willing to spend a lot of time, money and even comfort just to make sure that these unwanted dimples on the skin will remain unnoticeable. But since scientists are still baffled as to what is the definitive cause of cellulite, it would be wise to look deeper into the matter and help unravel how it develops. Most probably, we will have a better understanding on how to prevent and treat cellulite if we know the stages of its development. For quite a long time, the medical field has not been preoccupied in studying cellulite, primarily because this is not considered as a medical condition. In fact, this skin problem is more of a cosmetic malady than a disease. However, since consciousness about beauty and cosmetics has surged recently, cellulite is now being recognized by experts. In fact, you can now find articles about cellulite in medical literature. This is indeed a great step in the better understanding of this problem. Below are the five phases of cellulite development:Phase OneCellulite is formed when blood microcirculation, lymphatic waste elimination and venous flow in the subcutaneous layer of the skin is impaired or damaged. If you have a problem with blood flow, microcirculation or lymphatic drainage, the surrounding tissues will surely weaken and be prone to the development of cellulite. Furthermore, blood and fluids can also be trapped in the area because of the problematic drainage function. As a result, the tissues in that area might start to become fibrous.Phase TwoAs the poor circulation continues, the veins and capillaries will start to weaken and become damaged. In fact, blood will probably leak out from damaged veins to nearby tissues. As a result, the problem with drainage and circulation is exacerbated because of the increase in strain or pressure on the surrounding skin tissues. Skin discoloration, slight bruising and tenderness of the affected areas might be visible at this stage.Phase ThreeThe early stages of dimpling start to be apparent on the skin at this phase. Since lymphatic drainage has been impaired for a prolonged period, the fat tissues in the area become swollen and start to press on the skin.Phase FourAt this stage, the fibrous septae, which is caused by constricted circulation and drainage problems, will start to thicken and form hardened fibers. Moreover, cells that were deprived of nutrients and oxygen because of poor circulation start to merge with fibers, making them even thicker and harder. In this stage, fat starts to become trapped in between the fibers. Aside from small lumps being visible, you will feel cold areas on your skin at this phase.Phase FiveApart from the continuous growth of the fibrous septae, poor blood circulation and increased pressure in the area will make matters worse. More fat cells will be trapped in the fiber formed underneath the skin. Unfortunately, despite exercise and dieting, fat cells confined in between these thick fibers are not efficiently used or converted to energy. At this phase, steatomes, or the honeycomb-structure composed of trapped fat cells, fibers and stagnant fluids are formed. This is also the time when everyone can see the cottage-cheese formation on the skin. One way of preventing the development or reducing the appearance of cellulite is by promoting better blood circulation. You can do this by massaging the affected area with creams and products, such as Celrase, that contain ingredients that fight cellulite and improve blood flow. When it comes to learning meditation, one requires to learn several important techniques in order to achieve success and obtain maximum benefits. Remember that effective meditation includes a lot of techniques. The techniques of meditation vary from one culture to other. However, the art of meditation is one. It is universal. These techniques have been developed to suit different personalities. You would find that certain techniques demand concentration, focus and attention. There are also other techniques that are expansive. ‘Vipassana’ form of meditation is such a technique. It allows one to enjoy free flow of thoughts in conjunction with observation. Here are some of the most common techniques used in:a) Mantra meditation:A mantra can be defined as a grouping of different sound vibrations that have an effect on the physical as well as mental consciousness. Traditionally, these are given to a student by a Teacher or ‘Guru’. However, in the absence of a Guru, the practitioner or the student can opt for his own mantra. One needs to follow an important rule when selecting a mantra. According to this rule, one must choose a mantra that appeals to the mind fully when spoken verbally. When chanting mantra, powerful vibrations are created. These are said to be directed to the appropriate ‘Chakras’ in order to attract certain divine forces. This technique works towards healing the physical, spiritual and psychological body of the practitioner. One must fully enjoy the rhythm of the mantra when it is chanted. It is also necessary to surrender oneself to the whole experience. b) Steady gaze or Trataka:This is a simple but very beautiful technique of meditation. You need to use a regular candle for this technique. Some people prefer using other objects of their choice. You should set up the candle at an arm’s length. It should be placed in level with eyes. Perform steady gazing with eyes open first. After a while, you can close your eyes and gaze at the after image of the flame. This should be gazed at the eye brow center. Do not move through out the practice. Now, relax your breath and lengthen and deepen it. Repeat the process for sometime.c) Chakra meditation:Charka meditation refers to a simple way for neophytes to explore the charkas via self help. This helps in providing a sense of awakening in them gently. This is done in a balanced integrated manner. You can perform it either sitting or lying. You need to close your eyes, adjust your body and clothing. Let your breath relax, slow and then deepen. Do not make an attempt to control it. Once you are settled down, begin with Ujjayi pranayam and do this for sometime. Bring awareness towards the spinal passage. Do it for a few minutes. Ascend with inhalation and descend with exhalation. Try to locate charkas within that channel. Don’t locate the exact location. Only focus in general area. Feel the location of these charkas and repeat its name mentally as you pass by it. You need to mentally repeat from Mooldhara to Ajna and then reverse the order. Prior to finishing, let go of breath sound and then names. Now, chant mantra ‘Om’ for about three times.

Responsibility or Re-sponse-ability?

October 25th, 2008 by admin

Responsibility or Re-sponse-ability?

When we think of the word, the trait, the quality of responsibility, its definition usually refers to one’s conduct and obligations toward others or a project. Rarely do we define responsibility as the ability to respond with integrity for the self. The ability to choose responses in situations has many benefits. It reduces stress, it empowers the self to create choices and it allows one to feel a sense of internal control when confronted with conflict. Think about this scenario. A situation presents itself and you react with anger. The same situation presents itself again in a different environment and you react with anger again. Ultimately, you might feel guilty for your behavior and apologize or you just experience multiple days filled with anger. Does this pattern of automatic responses sound familiar? Do you ever ask “What makes me react this way?” “Why do I behave this way?” “What makes me feel emotionally drained all the time?” Response patterns can be automatic and based on previous experiences that one keeps projecting into new situations. The key to change is what I call the “choice-point opportunity.” This is the conscious moment when one becomes aware of over-reaction or anger-filled emotions projected into a situation. Once one becomes conscious of this moment, the ability to change behavior in situations that provoke anger and cause conflict can be resolved. With this conscious awareness comes the realization that you can choose a different behavior.Think about this scenario. A situation presents itself that normally provokes anger within you. Instead of reacting with anger, you recognize the situation as anger-provoking for you. This awareness gives you choice and a new opportunity to respond differently in that moment. This moment of awareness is your gift. It is the moment for a new choice concerning behavior. This is an evolution of your consciousness to a new level of higher order thinking and provides you with the opportunity to respond to a situation with choice. Consequently, your ability to do so is both personally and socially responsible. Take control of your life and practice re-sponse-ability toward yourself. Become your own hero on your journey and quest toward self-awareness and inner peace

The Energetic And Spiritual Times Have Changed by Elysha

October 24th, 2008 by admin

Journeying along the path of heart and self discovery is the only thing that is worth its salt.

This journey is not what you think it is though. You may well think that you are already travelling this path of discovering the heart but unless you are moving in the immediacy of this “you” of you that is already flowing through the eyes of this mindbody that you find yourself flowing through, then you are not involved on this journey at all.

You will still be involved with trying to be who you think you are and that motion is one which bars the door to your already and immediate realization of “you”. You will be on the gradual path of notyou-ness, saying “no” to the divine one from flowing through with the consciousness of itself.

Many say that not everyone is ready to be the immediacy of this one that is flowing through your eyes right now. The funny thing is, though, that all that say this are those who are not realizing and being who “you” are – these ones being very much involved in their refusal to leave alone who they think they are.

If you are adamant in the not letting go of who you think you are you are never going to stabilise in the realizing of this “you” of you that is already true of you. Another thing not seen by these ones is that the energetic and spiritual times have changed – humanity is no longer bound to its past spiritual history. The pain and suffering that was humanity’s lot is no more. Humanity is now free to walk in the freedom of the heart and self that it is – if it so wishes.

There is no one on this planet that is bound to the old ways of basically not being able to free up from what was never true of them - anymore. There is no one on this planet that cannot relatively quickly come to the clarity and stabilisation of consciously being this divine one that is already true of you, if you are so desirous – no one.

Those days of not being able to stand free are simply and truly over. The clause, of course, is if you so wish to.

Everything is in place on this planet, for anyone who truly wishes to be completely free of what till now has always been an imprisonment, bondage and blockage to the seeing and being of this “you” of you that is currently flowing through your eyes right now.

This “you” of you is the divine one itself. Your familiarity of being stuck; in misery and pain; trying to make yourself as comfortable as possible from within an uncomfortable position; is the only adversity that you truly have to contend with. This familiarity will have you returning again and again to this unconscious inattention of attempting to be something that is not true of who “you” are – this mindbody that this “you” is simply flowing through.

You however, have the energy and attention – if you so wish – to actually find this “you” of you that is flowing through your eyes and to stop right here as this one. This you now can do, if you so wish – it is entirely up to you and what you are willing to do to make this work for you.

“You” are not who you think you are; “you” are not the mindbody that you are flowing through; “you” are not the mind that informs this mindbody with its rather dubious guidance. This “you” of you is already freely standing from all of this arising stuff and it is flowing through the eyes of this mindbody that you find yourself flowing through.

Now, you may well need to spend a good deal of time in the company of one who is already living this clarity of this “you” of you to get you off of the ground of being stuck in the energetic vibration of the automaticity of trying to be this something that is notyou.

Homeopathic Remedies For Asthma Article - Health Articles

October 23rd, 2008 by admin

Today there are a large number of homeopathic remedies for asthma available but should only be used with the guidance of a person who has the experience and knowledge regarding homeopathic medicine and treatments.

Certainly when the right kinds of treatments are chosen a person will find that they can help to relieve the stress that they are feeling when an asthma attack occurs. However if the attack becomes much worse then that person should be seeking medical advice as soon as possible. Especially in cases where the person has a great deal of difficulty when they are breathing and their lips have gone a bluish color or it looks as if they are likely to lose consciousness.

In this article I am going to take a look at some homeopathic remedies that a person may want to consider using in order to treat their condition. But these should only be used under strict guidance from an experienced homeopathic therapist.

Carbo Vegetabilis

This particular remedy will be suggested for use by some during an asthma attack who feels weak or faint. Often they will feel as if their chest is hollow also. Plus they will often cough in such a way that they can actually begin to gag which will then make it very difficult for more air to gain access to their lungs. Also this particular homeopathic remedy will be used on those people who feel worse in the evening or after talking, eating or when they are laid down.

Chamomilla

This particular homeopathic remedy has been designed for treating sufferers who suffer with a hard, dry but irritating cough which often occurs when they become exposed to air that is moving or when they become excited or angry.

Ipecacuanha

This particular remedy is provided to those sufferers who have coughing spasms which results in them either retching or vomiting. Also it is great for treating those who find that the mucus (phlegm) collects in their breathing tubes and when they try to cough it out they find it extremely difficult to do so.

Although I have provided information with regard to what kind of homeopathic remedies for asthma that may be given to some sufferers, there are also other asthma herbal remedies.

But until the homeopathic therapist knows what kind of asthma you are suffering from, they will not be able to devise a suitable remedy for you. The best thing you can do is find a knowledgeable and experienced homeopathic therapist to treat you. You can consult your own doctor who maybe able to suggest one and then take your time and discuss with them the best course of treatment for you.
