A Great Body Requires a Healthy Diet and Plenty of Exercise

We all want to look like that supermodel in the magazine but we want to be able to eat like the fattest person alive. Obviously, these simply do not go together so in order for us to come to terms with what we want our bodies to look like we must also come to terms with what we allow ourselves to eat. It is really all about changing our mindset and allowing your brain to take charge. You must reprogram your brain, however, to understand that in order to have an amazing body you must be committed to a healthy diet and plenty of exercise. After reading the part about exercise you probably groaned a little bit. I don’t know what it is about people and exercise but there are a lot of fun things you can do that will get your heart beating and help you burn calories. There is no reason to be afraid of exercise or to consider it as something negative. The easiest thing to do is to simply reprogram your mind that exercise is not bad, hard, boring, or difficult to do. It is instead fun, invigorating, and is the key to helping you get that body you want. When you accept these things and really make the changes you need to make then you will begin enjoying exercise and you will look forward to exercising every day.But, the good news is you do not have to hit the gym for two hours a day in order to be healthy. Nor do you need to exercise every single day. As long as you exercise as least half an hour three times a week then you will be doing great. You will find that as you start incorporating these workouts into your weekly schedule you’ll start to really enjoy them more and will continue going to the gym and possibly increase the amount of time and effort you devote to exercising simply because you have come to enjoy it. While you are enjoying your new exercise routine you have probably gained a new appreciation for healthy foods. Eating healthy is really important because it gives your body the nutrients it needs to stay healthy not to mention it makes losing weight much easier. You will notice that when you work out on a regular basis you will be less likely to cheat on your diet because you know how much work goes into burning off a Snickers bar or a box of chocolates. All of these attitude changes come back to reprogramming your mind. Sure, you won’t be able to reprogram your mind in a day. But, you can reprogram your mind in as little as a few weeks. So, go ahead and start making the changes you need to make. Put your mind in control of your weight loss and exercise and allow yourself the opportunity to finally be healthy and have the body of your dreams. The truth of the matter is that you have a choice between feeling and looking great or feeling and looking awful, make that conscious choice to be healthy and fit, you won’t regret it, that I guaranty. After you have been doing these new things for about a month they will come naturally to you. You will not need to be reminded to drink plenty of water or to get active because it will be part of your day just like brushing your teeth or putting on your glasses or even cooking dinner. Creating a new habit is not that difficult. It simply requires a dedication on your part and a commitment. After that, everything will fall into place on its own and you will wind up healthier and fitter than ever with a better body image. And that is certainly worth a commitment to a new lifestyle.

How Long Do the Cravings Last

October 29th, 2008 by admin

After an individual decides to give up smoking, it takes some time for the brain to re-adjust. This period generally takes between two and three weeks to re-adjust. During this time, individuals will have strong cravings to start smoking again. Besides the period that is required for the brain to re-train itself, individuals will also have cravings related to the nicotine that remains in the body even after people have stopped smoking. It usually takes nicotine about 100 hours to leave the body. During this time, individuals will have withdrawal symptoms that will make it difficult to quit smoking. There are also psychological cravings that will last long past the time that it takes for nicotine to leave the body and the brain to not associate smoking with pleasure. For some individuals, smoking simply becomes a habit that has become ingrained in their lifestyles. It will require some thought and creativity to replace this bad habit with something more healthful. Some ideas include chewing gum, eating hard candy, going for a short walk, or reading something inspirational. Quitting smoking is very difficult. Health experts believe that smoking is just as addictive as hard drugs such as cocaine or heroine. The cravings can be quite intense and are both physical and psychological. It takes a period of 2-3 weeks before the brain retrains itself not to crave nicotine and about 100 hours before nicotine is cleansed from the body. This combination makes the first month of attempting to smoke quite excruciating. Most people who attempt to keep smoking, usually will try and fail a few times within the first three months. This is the period of time where the cravings are extremely strong. If individuals know this from the onset, they will be able to take measures to put safeguards in place so that they don’t go back to smoking. They may want to start up a new hobby or exercise program to keep their minds off of the cravings. If an individual can make it through this period, they should be successful in quitting smoking. They will need to create a plan prior to them quitting so that they are not overwhelmed when the cravings hit. If they do this, then they will have a much higher chance of actually kicking this harmful habit.

Herbal Curatives and Weight Increase Connected With Giving Up Smoking

October 29th, 2008 by admin

A lot of people who smoke tobacco products experience a really significant wish to cease there smoking habit. Yet it seems that whichever technique or formula they attempt, they simply can’t dampen this insalubrious and high-priced addiction. It appears that the brain’s addiction to nicotine is a major barrier to get past.

Every person who is attempting to cease tobacco smoking in general will sustain at least one of these side effects: Peevishness, depressive disorders, feeling Irritable, Cravings for Nicotine, and anxiousness. Nicotine can have numerous consequences once assimilated into an individual’s bloodstream, well-nigh wholly disadvantageous. Merely 2 of these leading outcomes is the way Nicotine fools the brain into a benevolent state of mind while you are smoking in addition to any effects of withdrawal you experience whilst you’re trying to quit smoking. It actually does not make any discernible difference if you have been smoking for only a short while, for some years or for the majority of your lifespan, there are a number of herbal remedies available to help people to cease smoking.

A lot of people how are now proud to be known as “Ex Smokers” have stated that these herbal remedies where possibly one of the most beneficial selections they have ever made since they serve in calming your cravings for the dreaded nicotine . With umpteen individuals laying claim to having completely discontinued tobacco smoking for thanks to the conscious choice of selecting an “off the shelf” herbal remedy.

If you are a person how is earnestly straining to cease the habit of tobacco smoking then herbal cease products to stop smoking together with alternative methods of quitting smoking are only able to succeed if your personal self-will allows them to, particularly if you’ve tried to quit smoking previously and flunked at merely applying self-will on it’s own to cease smoking. A single significant factor with any of these aids is that they sometimes seem to prove more effective if the individual has tried to cease smoking previously and failed. Herbal cease smoking items have been proven to constitute a tried and true method of stopping smoking, sometimes even within a single week whilst battling the uncomfortableness of nicotine craving and symptoms of withdrawal from nicotine.

Merely one of the profits of ceasing tobacco smoking is that the majority of other people will possess a more estimable opinion of you as an individual. The initial and mayhap the most crucial constituent to stopping smoking for altogether is private committedness, if you’re not wholly devoted to discontinuing the habit of smoking, then your probabilities of enduring absolute success is going to be foreshortened, yet, if you’re one hundred per-cent dedicated and one hundred per-cent resolute, then your chances, statistically for victory are a good deal larger. If you’re not converted already to cease smoking tobacco then perhaps if you recognised just how much your smoking habit impacted other people, not least your own offspring, your protracted household, the people you work with and those individuals near you, you just may be convinced enough to alter your judgment.

So stopping smoking is truly your aim, and in your heart you feel the time is proper for you, determine a definite date in your calendar, be dedicated, figure out our your best techniques, set down a few scare tactics, and from there on every thing additional to that is down to you from this point in time. It can assist your plans if you can take the time to perform some analysis of your own smoking habits, in particular why you would like to quit smoking, write a few of the biggest arguments down like a crib sheet and make sure that it is with you all the time, if you start feeling your resolve weakening, take out the list and read it as a means of supercharging your personal self-will!

Establish it as a personalised objective that this follows the year that you’re ultimately going to “Stop Smoking”, it’s all-important that you’re “Ready to Stop”. Pop in to your local natural health shops; they stock numerous beneficial, natural wares that may really serve in attaining the aim of ceasing to smoke a great deal less demanding. Numerous individuals who cease smoking do sustain some weight gains in the short-run, yet it is really not a subject that you should trouble about unduly or let sway you from your objectives, since it is genuinely your alternative whether you finish up consuming more food or not, but do not allow food (or snacks) convert into a surrogate for tobacco smoking. A reason how come a few individuals put on some weight when they stop smoking is due to their tastebuds functioning once more after being blunted by your smoking habits!, Meals start to taste so much nicer that it can become a temptation to consume more. As soon as you start to comprehend why your food us tasting better then it will become less problematic to command your food consumption and regain control your weight as soon as you have for once and for all finally broken your smoking habit.

The Reason for Smoking!

October 29th, 2008 by admin

The real reason for smoking is your emotional state. You like the feeling of a truly “friend” who by your opinion is always in the right mood. First fact is that this is only your opinion, and second fact is that you can easily link pleasure with any similar thing (For example you can make connection in your brain to start feeling cheerful whenever you take a chewing gum).

The point is that you can choose to link pleasure to whatever you want to.

If someone beats you, and succeeds in convincing you that this is an act of love, your brain will link pleasure to this situation and you know what’s next right :). It is the same thing with every behavior we tend to repeat. This is how the habit is created. The good news is that your brain is very powerful machine but you’ll have to learn to control it.

I’ve came to this conclusion before I quit smoking, and this thought start bothering me. I was not satisfied with myself after this conclusion, and from this perspective I believe this was the turning point for me. Suddenly I started to notice every little excuse I gave to myself, and how was I conditioned to smoking. Day after day I became more and more aware of the excuses that were in charge and rule over me. Very soon I start to research and begin to imagine how life would look like without a cigarette. It takes me more than a year to link that non-smoking is very very COOL!

Now I’m a non-smoker, and I enjoy every second of more conscious “me”. I also enjoy that I can choose why, when and how can I feel in every moment.

This inspired me on something else, do you know that there is one big advantage that every smoker have over a non-smoker. Sounds stupid I know, but it’s true. The fact that you are a smoker now can be a big turning point for your entire life, imagine how much momentum you’ll gain for every other aspect in your life, if you succeed in quitting cigarettes. You’ll be more motivated and strong for every job in the future, because you quit this smoking habit, you are in charge now and in the future. You’ll believe in yourself more, and you’ll like yourself more. Isn’t this the essence of a good life?

Imagine my friend, just imagine!

Why Hypnosis And Hypnotherapy Can Be Beneficial by Rex Truman

October 29th, 2008 by admin

Several studies show hypnosis can help you lose weight, give up smoking, achieve other goals and suffer less pain

To sceptics, hypnosis is mumbo-jumbo, but scientific evidence now shows that hypnosis and self-hypnosis can help people to overcome problems. It has can help people:

* Stop over-eating and reduce weight

* Stop smoking

* Reduce excessive drinking

* Stop gambling

Of course, you must want to end these problems. During your normal mental state you may not be prepared to take the trouble needed to overcome the addiction - and may not admit it is an addiction - but if you ever think “I want to stop smoking” or drinking, etc, then there is a good chance that hypnosis will help.

How does it do so? Hypnotism - that is the act of being hypnotised - has been shown to alter the mental state. Different electrical signals are produced, and this has also been show with magnetic resonance imaging. However, it is not know exactly what occurs.

All that is known is that the state appears to be closer to sleeping with one exception - you remain completely alert. There are various theories. For example, it is known that there are two aspects of the brain: conscious and sub-conscious.

The conscious is used to work things out logically, and to take decisions about what to do next. The sub-conscious keeps us breathing, keeps our heart beating regularly, and sends out signals to our body to carry out all the routine operations needed to keep us alive.

But it is more than that: the sub-conscious also stores memories and information, and has ready access to these things - even when we have forgotten them. In some cases, the events just happened a long time ago, or were insignificant. In others, they were so uncomfortable that we don’t allow our conscious mind to remember them.

Theses forgotten memories can also result in repression, so that we don’t achieve what we want, or may make us do things we don’t really want to. The hypnotic state can make your subconscious see things differently, and overcome problems.

What happens with hypnosis? Some hypnotherapists induce a feeling of nausea that is associated with smoking or overeating, so that the next time we get a cigarette out, we don’t feel good. Another approach is to help the person have more determination to stop smoking.

Increased determination also helps us achieve our goals - goals that we thought were completely out of reach.

Personal problems such as phobias can be overcome with hypnosis, and pain in illness can be reduced - this has been demonstrated in various studies including one involving 80 children suffering from cancer. Overcoming the pain of childbirth is another example.

A group of people who suffered from hay-fever in Switzerland also found reduced symptoms following hypnosis. Half the group were treated this way in the first season, and compared with the others, and the other half of the group were treated prior to the second season. Afterwards, they reported that they needed less medication than before being hypnotised.

EEGs (electro-encephalographs) showed that the right-brain was more active and the left-brain less active during hypnosis. The left-brain is associated with analysis and criticism and the right-brain with creativity.

3 Tips For Staying Active Into Retirement

3 Tips For Staying Active Into Retirement

For many of us retirement means a chance to relax after years of working hard five days (or more) a week. Yet it is easy to let that relaxation get the better of you, leading to low fitness levels, too much time spent indoors and poor health. Thankfully there are several simple ways to make sure this doesn’t happen – and none of them require a gym membership or running shoes!1 – Make small changes daily to ensure you stay active.There may be no need to go out at all some days, but if you do – even if only for a short walk – your overall health will benefit. Why not leave the car at home when you need to pop into town? That brisk walk first thing in the morning to grab a daily paper will set you up for the day, and the fresh air will do wonders for waking you up!2 – Stay in contact with friends.Staying active is much easier and much more enjoyable if you have someone to do it with. There’s nothing better than a country walk with friends… especially if it ends up at the local pub for lunch. Golf, swimming, bowls and many other activities are also ideal for two or more to enjoy together.3 – Staying active doesn’t just mean in a physical sense – it helps to stimulate the brain too.Going from a full time job to retirement is a huge shift in anyone’s life. Taking it easy is one thing – stopping altogether is quite another!Find out about volunteering at your local charity shop, or helping in the community in some other way. Not only will you stay active, you’ll make new friends - and make a real difference as well.

Patients Ordering Doctors to Prescribe Antidepressants!!!

October 28th, 2008 by admin

Patients Ordering Doctors to Prescribe Antidepressants!!!

Depression can safely be marked as the most widespread and prevalent problems in human life. The most surprising part is that the person himself is unaware as to when he falls in the clutches of this disease. That is why such a great number of depression cases remain untreated or are diagnosed at a stage when the treatment becomes complicated, sometimes even impossible. Depression can very well be dubbed a slow poison that slowly and steadily gnaws away a patients mind in the beginning and then gets contaminated in his entire system through the brain. Depression cure is not just about medications, it is equally about knowing the patient in and out, and trying to decipher and loosen his internal knots that are tying him up to depression. This basic priority has to be met in order to successfully treat a person of depression. Depression cure can be a time taking process that might infuriate the relatives of the patient and sometimes even the patient. But this is less likely to happen if the patient is experiencing improvements by breaking free of his mental dilemmas and restlessness and getting back his much needed peace and calm of mind. In medical history there are examples of cases where depression patients have been cured without the use of any medicine whatsoever or the use of light medications at the most. But the times have changed today. Thanks to the magazines, televisions and radios today people sometimes tend to know better than the doctors. They know and learn about the medications from different sources and urge upon the doctors to prescribe them the right doses of the same for quick relief. They are reluctant to take the longer way out and instead press upon the doctors to prescribe them the medication they wish to have. Doctors have admitted to this fact that most of them prescribe some antidepressants because patients want them to. But before prescribing any anti depressant the doctors make sure that the depression drug won’t leave any side effects on the patient. And even if it does it is not major. The trend of going for anti depressants has attained such proportions that today they are even sold online. The online pharmacies sell drugs like Xanax, Viagra, Cialis in order to cater to the increasing demand of the patients. People also find it easier to buy xanax online rather than going for the offline pharmacies. In purchasing each of them, the same procedure needs to be followed. For example if you are keen to buy xanax, first of all you will have to go through the online medical consultation before you can actually buy the medicine.

Complete Information on Elective mutism with Treatment and Prevention

Complete Information on Elective mutism with Treatment and Prevention

Elective mutism is a cultural anxiety disorder in which an individual who is usually able of address is incapable to talk in given situations. No unmarried reason has been established, but there is some evidence that there is a genetic part. They function normally in other areas of behaviour and learning, though appear severely withdrawn and some are unable to participate in group activities due to their extreme anxiety. Most children with elective mutism have an inherited predisposition to anxiety. They often have inhibited temperaments, which is hypothesized to be the result of over-excitability of the area of the brain called the amygdala. Some children with selective mutism may have sensory integration dysfunction, which causes the child to have trouble processing some sensory information. There is no evidence at all that children with elected mutism have suffered misuse, negligence, or injury. Particularly in inexperienced children, elected mutism can sometimes be confused with an autism spectrum disorder, particularly if the kid acts especially withdrawn around his or her diagnostician. Unfortunately, this can lead to incorrect treatment. Social phobia is an anxiety disorder in which people fear situations where they might say or do something embarrassing. People with this disorder often fear speaking in public or to strangers. People with social phobia often report being fearful of speaking when they were very young. Children with the disorder are fully capable of speech and understanding language, but fail to speak in certain social situations when it is expected of them. The problem is often missed initially when a child is merely labelled as shy. The incidence of elected mutism is not sure. Due to the impoverished agreement of the general world on this circumstance, many cases are undiagnosed. The precise handling depends a plenty on the topic, their age and new factors. Typically, stimulus fading is used with younger children, because older children and teenagers can recognize the situation as an attempt to make them speak. Some in the psychiatric community believe that anxiety medication may be effective in extremely low dosages but that higher doses may just make the problem worse. Many practitioners believe that there is evidence indicating that antidepressants such as fluoxetine may be helpful in treating children with elective mutism and even that medicine is essential to effective treatment. Medication is more often used for older children and teenagers whose anxiety has led to depression and other problems.

An Introduction To What Is Depression

October 28th, 2008 by admin

An Introduction To What Is Depression

This book is for the ‘Average Joe’ in this country who likes information given in an understandable way. You want it kept simple and you don’t need to read about all the technical stuff behind the subject. Depression happens to the average Joe all the time and most of us who have it don’t get treated for it. That’s a shame because depression is one of the most treatable diseases. I hope that if you understand it and know that it isn’t something to hide, cover up, or ignore, your can have the power to beat it. At the very least, 30% of the American population suffer from a depression. The economic cost is out of sight but the cost in suffering for those who are depressed can never really be counted. Depression can not only destroy persons suffering with it, but everyone around them who cares about them. A serious major depression can ruin a family if left untreated. This is really bad news! The good news is that there is quick treatment and relief available for depression sufferers. However, the majority of people who get depressed do not get treated. We have now learned that depression is mostly due to a chemical imbalance or mix-up in the brain. These mix-ups can be treated with medications. The medications available now can help you save your life or that of someone you love. Depression is treatable, just like high blood pressure, diabetes, and an ulcer. It is simply a matter of reaching out for help, getting the right medication, and following directions. Think of this as like having a car that goes on the blink. You wouldn’t ignore trouble signs like an engine light flashing and think you could just keep on driving. You would investigate what was going on, get someone with training to check out your car, and fix whatever went wrong. Same thing applies if you develop a temperature over 102, are dripping with sweat, and become weaker and weaker. You know something has to be done, and done quickly. It is exactly the same when you experience depression. Something is terribly wrong and you must act. I used to tell my new clients to think of themselves coming in to see me for a tune up, not a major overhaul. You won’t need the big overhaul if you take action quickly. How do you know if you have depression? There are some things that really stand out which can help you decide if a depression is going on. It involves your mood, your thoughts, your appetite, your sleep, and your feelings of self esteem. It is not just the blahs or the blues. Everybody has a few days or more when they feel down and sad. This is different. It’s not like the normal experience of sadness you have when things go wrong or when you are disappointed and hurt. This is an emotional pit you’ve fallen into which affects your family, your job, and your whole life. It’s a horrible feeling of hopelessness, of failure, of knowing that there is no way to make things better. You actually do ‘drag’ yourself along, going through the motions at home and work, thinking that you would rather hide in a cave and avoid everyone. If you are depressed you cannot just ‘get it together’, put a smiley face on, square your shoulders, and get a stiff upper lip. No matter how hard you try to lift yourself up, you can’t. And it tends to get worse, not better. If you don’t get treatment, this can last for months or even years. Why put yourself through something this awful when the right medication can get you back on track, able to feel better quickly? There are some facts that will help you agree that it is good to know about depression, understand the symptoms, and get the treatment which will help. Depression is not something that you have made up in your head. It’s feeling “down” and “low” and “hopeless” for months at a time. Depression can affect people at any age, of any race, any ethnic, or any economic group. It doesn’t just happen to soft people and is truly an equal opportunity illness. It is not a form of weakness but is a serious health problem, like any other illness. It is not something which should be hidden or anything to be embarrassed about. The names of famous people who have suffered from depression like David Letterman, Mike Wallace, Terry Bradshaw, Wynona Ryder, Delta Burke, Tipper Gore, Brian Wilson of the Beach Boys, and so many more tell us that celebrities who seem to have all the breaks have suffered with depression. Depression is a thief. It comes into your life, steals your energy and self esteem, and whispers to you that you are worthless. It shoves you down deeper into the bottom of the pit where no angels want to go. It can drive you to actually think about suicide, getting it over with, and ending the agony which has made your life pure hell. This book is intended to help you understand depression by giving you information that you will be able to understand. You will not have to have a Ph.D. to get through these chapters and by the time you have finished, you will know a lot. After reading this paragraph you won’t have to think about ‘genetic implications’ or such things as ‘human leukocyte antigen’. You may even surprise yourself with how much you have learned about depression and how to deal with it. I hope you will feel comfortable reading and rereading chapters that seem to have real meaning for you. You are the reason this book has been written.
