Do You Really Wanna Quit?

October 29th, 2008 by admin

Smokers who want to quit smoking are having a lot of advantages today. It is fortunate that today we have Nicotine Replacement Therapies as well as drugs which can be used as a replacement or which make quitting easier and bearable. Many people have used aids like nicotine gums, patches, inhaler, lozenges, chantix etc to get rid of their smoking habit.

However, there are many who in spite of using these aids could not still quit smoking. When these therapies and drugs prove helpful for some, why don’t they work for others? The answer is there is lack of willingness in this category of smokers.

To successfully quit smoking and stay quit a person must have a want of quitting from within. He must realize that smoking is a bad habit, something that will eventually take away our life. One must want to quit and only then, will he be able to successfully quit smoking.

In a recent research published by the Smoking Cessation Research Unit at the University of Sydney; it was found that the use of nicotine replacement therapy has prevented 68,750 premature deaths over the past 10 years which is more than a quarter of 270,000 people who quit during that period.

However, it was also found that 2.6 million Australians still smoke and each year 20,000 deaths happen due to smoking- related illnesses.

Nicotine replacement therapy works by minimizing the nicotine withdrawal symptoms by turning off or reducing the nicotine receptor in the brain. Prior to 1997, nicotine patches and gums were available only on prescription and were not so popular, but when they were made available on the counter, the sales increased by 5000 percent. It became the most sought after medicine for people who wanted to quit smoking.

Another anti-smoking medicine to join the band wagon is Chantix. However, Chantix is not a replacement therapy; it is the first drug to be approved after the introduction of Zyban ten years ago. It was approved by the U.S. FDA on May 11, 2006, as a treatment for anti-smoking in adults. Chantix works in the brain by blocking the entrance of nicotine in the Alpha4beta2 and prevents the neurotransmitter dopamine from activation. It is found to be highly effective and considered to be the new savior for smokers. However lately it has been found that one of the side effects of chantix is that it gives rise to suicidal thoughts hence never buy chantix or any other anti smoking aid without consulting your doctor.

In spite of all the availability of nicotine replacement therapies and drugs, the most successful way to quit smoking is to want to quit smoking.? Without having the will to quit smoking nothing will really help as it depends upon you, your mind, and your will to be really strong and fight nicotine together with medicines which are like a weapon to stay tobacco free for life.

Tips On Your Baby Skin Care by Low Jeremy

October 29th, 2008 by admin

Although babies have basically flawless skin, some babies appear to have irritations and redness on their facial skin. This should not alarm parents as this condition is actually quite normal and would probably stop all on its own.

Baby skin is actually the purest and the healthiest as all functions are still active and the skin is still well hydrated. There is little damage from sunlight that can be seen and blemishes are non-existent. Of course, damage will eventually be visible as children will most likely play outside under the sun when they grow a little bit older.

One thing that parents must understand though is the fact that not because children’s skin are flawless, their skin is not damaged or is not being damaged. Oftentimes, the visible signs of damage come later in life.

And because children have no idea in what skin care is or could not care less on the condition of their skin 10 years in the future, it is the responsibility of the parents to educate their children on the needs and begin a skin care regimen that will help prevent the onset of various skin problems like dark spots, wrinkles, warts and acne.

It is never too soon for them to learn how to take care of their skin and it is never too soon for you to worry about your babies’ skins. In fact, it is important that parents realize this because the care for the skin of your children will rest solely on you.

Although there is really no need to get into medications and other stuff because the skin of babies are basically healthy, there is still a need to start protecting the skin from the sun. This can be done by wearing clothes that will shield them from the sun, wearing hats and sun-visors.

It is also important not to expose them too much in direct sunlight especially in noontime. If you do plan to go to the beach, make sure that you use sunscreen on them. There are sunscreens made especially for babies that are available in the market.

With bathing essentials like soaps, parents should stay clear of products that have added components. The milder and purer the better as the skin of babies and young kids are sensitive. Additional ingredients such as perfume may only irritate the skin and cause allergies. Coloring agents in baby products are also a no-no.

Orovo, the Easy Way to Better Health

Orovo, the Easy Way to Better Health

When I heard about Dr. Pericones discovery of the 10 superfoods featured on Oprah Winfrey’s talk show “10 Years Younger in 10 Days,” I immediately wanted to try the challenge myself. After making a list of these 10 superfoods I set out to find them. It should be pretty easy, right? After visiting 3 different grocery stores, I had only collected about half and realized the challenge would be more difficult than I originally imagined!I thought, someone needs to bottle this mixture up and sell it as a single supplement! Then I found that someone already had. The wife of the CEO of Orovo happened to be watching that day and decided to take on the challenge of incorporating these foods into her diet for 10 days. Looking younger is a matter of perception, but what was measurable were the pounds and acne she lost in the process. To make incorporating these superfoods from all around the world into her and others diets, they created the Orovo dietary supplements with high quality extracts of these 10 superfoods. Combining these extracts with green tea and wrinkle removers, Orovo was designed to help people realize their health goals — whether that is to lose weight, detox their body, improve their skin or just become overall healthier.

Master your Mind Master your Sport

October 28th, 2008 by admin

Master your Mind Master your Sport
by Annette Huygens-Tholen

What are your dreams and goals? What were your dreams and goals when you were maybe just 10 years old? Do you believe in those dreams? Have you given up on them?

I know I had a dream. I had a dream when I was just 10 years old to get to the Olympics. I was a gymnast at the time, and Nadia Comaneci was my hero, she was the darling of the 1976 Olympics. And watching her there created within me a dream that I could do that. I became fixated on that dream of going to the Olympics. It didnt quite go as planned or expected I was a gymnast at the time, but it took me 25 years and a change in sport to realize my dream. I wasnt quite sure how I was going to get there and back then I didnt know what I know now about the power of the mind in creating our results. Back then I didnt fully believe that I could do whatever I wanted to do.

I realize now how certain beliefs made things tougher for me. Having now learnt how the mind works in influencing our results, Im really passionate about getting that message out to you and making sure that you can realize your dreams in half the time, if not in a quarter of the time. It doesnt need to take 25 years to realize your dream. I wish I had had this information and so I want to share that with you.

And that is why Ive created my course, Master Your Mind, Master Your Sport, an upcoming teleseminar course, The reason why you need to get this information is because you need to understand how your unconscious mind communicates with your conscious mind.

WORDS = 7% OF COMMUNICATION

Its not just about the words. If youre involved in sport, you might have heard about the power of positive affirmation, and affirming things yourself, I am great, or I can do this in the simplest sense. And for sure words can have an impact, but they play such a small impact because you might be creating these positive words and positive sentences, but what are the pictures that you are creating in your mind? Are these pictures positive pictures? Do you really believe in what you are saying?

Our unconscious mind communicates to our conscious mind with pictures, sounds, feelings and with self-talk. It is one thing affirming, Yes, I can do this, but when your self-talk perhaps is saying, But I dont know if I can, or Part of me is holding this back. then it is self-defeating.

One of the most common questions that I get when I run teleseminars is how to deal with doubt and uncertainty? The thing about doubt and uncertainty is, where are you putting your focus? You are putting your focus on a future outcome and you are focusing on the negative consequences. With doubt you are creating pictures of things going wrong. What if it doesnt turn out? What if I make a mistake? What if things go wrong?

And just picture now, when you ask these negative questions what pictures and feelings are you putting in your mind? These are the pictures and feelings in your mind that are sent from the conscious mind to the unconscious mind that then go on to create the results that you get.

All the pictures and sounds and feelings in your thoughts are like instructions given to your unconscious they are saying this is what I want, go out and create this! When youre constantly creating negative thoughts and feelings, the opposite of what you really want, then your unconscious mind thinks well, this is what you want, so Im going to produce this for you.

“When you are clear, what you want will show up in your life, and only to the extent you are clear.”

Janet Atwood (Author of The Passion Test)

The unconscious mind is so powerful in producing exactly what it is youre communicating, and so when you understand this at the deepest level, then you can purposely go ahead and communicate more effectively to your unconscious mind.

The problem is many people often process communication in negatives, eg dont do that. Have you ever told someone, Dont slip, and straight away, youre creating a picture in that persons mind of slipping, and that person is more likely to go ahead and slip. Consider or observe this when speaking to children, because the minds of children up to seven years of age are totally unconscious. The minds of children are like a sponge soaking in everything that they get. Children and the unconscious mind cannot process not, so when youre telling them, Dont do this its very, very difficult for them to do because how do you dont do something? You want to give them positive instructions about what to do.

I suggest to you to think of your own conscious mind as a similar child, a child that wants to get clear instructions about what it needs to do, positive action words. Again, these instructions are created by the pictures, sounds and feelings in our conscious mind. You want to them all to be congruent, that is telling the same story. You could be creating pictures in your mind of what it is that you want to do, and you also want to feel the joy and satisfaction that goes with achieving that goal. Those results that you want to get need to be well communicated with fully congruent pictures, sounds and feelings.

Diet Meal Delivery Vs Traditional Diets - 3 Signs Diet Delivery Will Help You Lose Weight

October 28th, 2008 by admin

Will diet meal delivery help you lose weight? 3 signs that diet delivery will help you lose weight - especially if you%26#8217;re a diet dropout!

Diet meal delivery is one of the fastest growing trends in the dieting industry today. Diet Delivery services prepare meals for you according to your preferences and then deliver them to your door. Many people find it%26#8217;s much easier to lose weight using a diet delivery service versus going on a traditional diet. And studies are proving this:

In a recent study done by Brown University, people trying to lose weight by eating prepared meals lost an average of 31% more weight than those who made their own meals.

So is diet delivery the right choice for you? Here are 3 signs that diet meal delivery may help you lose weight faster and easier than a traditional diet:

1) You%26#8217;ve Had Trouble Losing Weight in the Past With Traditional Diets

Many people would love to lose weight with a diet like the Zone or Atkins but they just can%26#8217;t seem to do it. Lack of time, too much trouble buying and preparing the food - whatever the reason, it can simply be too much work - especially for those with crazy schedules.

Plus some diets can be extremely complex (10 years ago, who had ever heard of the glycemic index?). So preparing the proper food or even planning your meals can take time and effort that you would rather spend elsewhere.

If you%26#8217;ve found that you%26#8217;ve had trouble losing weight in the past with a traditional do-it-yourself diet, then weight loss meal delivery might be perfect for you.

Everything%26#8217;s done for you. The meals are often dietitian approved and chef-prepared so they taste amazing. All you do is heat for and eat - and of course lose weight.

2) You%26#8217;re Always On The Go %26 Don%26#8217;t Have Time To Watch What You Eat

If you%26#8217;re the kind of person who doesn%26#8217;t have time to take a break much less prepare a meal, diet meal delivery is a convenient option. It saves you time and helps you stay slim, healthy and on top of your game.

Life is hectic and getting busier. While we may get a lot done when we%26#8217;re always on the go, the downside is we tend to grab what%26#8217;s most available: fast food and junk. This kind of food piles on the pounds, damages our health and can actually slow you down, making you feel heavy and depressed.

Diet meal delivery can be a convenient way to lose weight, radically take care of yourself by eathing healthy food and save time into the bargain. You can maintain your on-the-go lifestyle while keeping the kind of body (and health) you want.

3) You Often Break Your Diet Because You Feel Deprived

Deprivation is the diet-killer. There%26#8217;s nothing wor

se than being on a diet when your friend or significant other decides to dive into a hot fudge brownie sundae right in front of you. That sense of deprivation rears its ugly head and the next thing you know - to heck with the diet - you%26#8217;re face down in a tub of Ben and Jerry%26#8217;s.

The worst thing about dieting is feeling that nagging sense of deprivation. Cardboard-tasting food will only cut it for so long, even for the most disciplined person.

If you often break your diet because you feel deprived - or if you%26#8217;ve given up dieting because of it, consider diet meal delivery.

For around $25 a day (sometimes less), you can get chef-prepared gourmet meals delivered to your door. This kind of luxury service is guaranteed to make you feel pampered, special and stave off those feelings of deprivation. It can actually speed you towards your goal.

If you fall into 1 or even all 3 of the above categories, diet food delivery might help you lose weight faster and easier than a traditional diet.

Why else does diet delivery work well for so many people? Here are some quick facts:

1) Everything is done for you: You don%26#8217;t have to count calories, carbs, fat grams, portion sizes - nothing.

With all the work done by dietitians and weight loss experts, you can rest assured that you WILL lose weight. In fact most diet delivery clients lose 2-4 pounds a week.

2) Meals are delicious and varied: Many times people give up on their diets because they food is so repetitive and boring.

Most weight loss meal delivery services change their menus frequently or even allow you to select from a variety of options. So you don%26#8217;t get bored while you lose the weight.

3) Delivered meals give you a proper sense of portion size. One of the great things about a diet delivery service is that it re-teaches you the correct amount of food you need to lose weight.

With fast food and restaurant portion sizes out of control, it%26#8217;s hard to know how much to eat anymore.

Diet delivery services can get you back on track and teach you about proper portion size so even when you%26#8217;re eating on your own you can maintain your weight loss.

Bottom Line?

Weight loss meal delivery aims to make weight loss easy, convenient and simple. In this super-fast world we%26#8217;re expected to work hard, take care of the kids, pay the bills, clean the house, entertain guests and more - all while looking slim doing it.

A diet delivery service can give you the edge. It can help you lose weight, stay healthy, maintain your figure and your sanity.

5 Reasons To Pick A Diet Buddy

October 28th, 2008 by admin

Picking a diet buddy may just be the one tool to help you through a tough diet period. You need to find someone who will be completely honest and willing to stick with you until the end.

1) You need someone who will tell you the two big Macs you had for dinner last night wasn’t a good choice, but will not tear you apart either. You should find a person who has similar weight loss goals. If you want to lose 15 pounds and your buddy wants to lose 30, you are definitely not compatible. Ensure that you are both on the same level and have the same goals.

2) You should avoid choosing someone you live with if possible. The constant interaction and monitoring will make you feel like your every move is being watched. Instead try to choose a co worker or close friend to help you out.

3) You should also choose a diet buddy who you will see regularly. This way you can talk about how you are progressing. You both should meet for breakfast or dinner. With this tactic you can both carefully select food and keep an eye on each other.

4) You and your diet buddy should set goals and rewards for each other. When you obtain a diet goal, go out and celebrate. Do not celebrate by going out for burgers or fast food.
5) Both of you can spend a lot of time together and bond. It may sound odd, but the bonding can build a lot more trust leading to better results.

Always remember that you and your buddy are not competing against each other. This buddy system was designed to help both of you. Feeding off this support system will provide you with the tools necessary to lose even more weight than you originally planned.

Monavie – How it’s Saving My Mom’s Life

Monavie – How it’s Saving My Mom’s Life

When I first joined Monavie I was looking for a work from home business and I knew that in order for it to work, people had to truly enjoy the product I was representing. I didn’t just want this to be another business opportunity, I wanted this to be an income producing work at home asset for me for years to come.So what I did is I bought a few cases of Monavie and sent it to my parents, a few friends and my brothers(2) to see what they thought of it. They weren’t looking to start a home business, I just wanted their opinion on the product. To my surprise all of them liked it. But the real magic would happen when they had to order it for themselves. Anyone like something that is free right?Because Monavie Active has glucosamine my mother and father stopped purchasing it in the pill form, which was costing them about $35.00 a month. My mother and father have a difficult time sleeping and they noticed that they were starting to wake up less and less during the night. Little by little they were noticing subtle things that weren’t there before and they weren’t “looking” for things to happen. They actually wanted to be skeptical about the product because of the price tag. (They were drinking 3 bottles between the 2 of them each month = $75)The magic happened when my mother went for blood work 3 months after first taking Monavie. My mother has had high blood pressure for about 10 years and has refused to take medication for it. When the nurse took her blood pressure, she didn’t believe what she saw, so she took it in the other arm just to make sure. Same results. So she went back to the original arm again to make sure she wasn’t making a mistake. The same results. My mother’s blood pressure had dropped over 30 points from a mildly dangerous place to completely normal for her age. The nurse and doctors were stunned. She hadn’t lost any weight, yet, and the only thing new to her diet was this berry drink she said was called Monavie. My mother’s blood pressure hadn’t changed in over 5 years. The nurses and doctor was sure she was taking something. On to the cholesterol check.Again, similar results. Her bad cholesterol was down 30 points and her good cholesterol was up. She was bordering high cholesterol in the 190’s for her age(61) and it had been there for about the same time, 5 years. Now a lot of people say, well the time of year matters and if she had any massive dietary changes, that can change results. Nope. My mom’s blood was taken in early February, right after the holidays, which my Mom really indulges in. My mother has had these tests done all throughout the year and the numbers were always the same. The best part is, she has since gone back and the numbers were the same. Needless to say all of her nurses and her doctor now drink Monavie, not for the home business opportunity, but for the results they have seen it get in other people. If you are ever considering a home based business, always think about the long term sustainability of the product. If you are with a product or service that people value highly now and will continue to do so in the future, stick with it. If not, consider joining an opportunity that will be around for years and years to come.In the words of my mother, “I will take Monavie until the day I die.” If you have a devoted customer base like this in your business, you will do well for years and years to come.

Health, What is Revision Rhinoplasty?

October 26th, 2008 by admin

San Diego revision rhinoplasty is a procedure employed when further surgery is required on the nose. This type of nose surgery is often required to repair a botched surgery, or correct irregularities or hide scars form previous surgeries. San Diego rhinoplasty today is much more effective than what it was 10 years ago. Certain technologies employed now were not available years ago, when many people first had nose reshaping surgery. Because of a lack of expertise and outdated surgical techniques, many San Diego nose job patients from over a decade ago have experienced weakening, and mutations of the asal structures – case in point, Michael Jackson. Think back to when he first got his nose job. It may have suited him for a while, but as time progressed, his nose got weaker, and more deformed-looking. This is exactly the type of situation where revision rhinoplasty comes into practicality. Some important things to think about when considering revision rhinoplasty in San Diego are how the nose looks now, what exactly is the issue or problems that need to be repaired and if they in fact can be corrected, what kind of scarring is involved, and what the expectations of the patient are. A San Diego cosmetic surgeon who specializes in revision rhinoplasty will be able to address all these issues. He or she should be specially trained in the field, have much experience, and be able to communicate with you how the procedure will be performed, and what to expect before, during, and after the surgery. Your expectations are key. If satisfaction is not achieved the first time, then more extensive surgery will be required. For example, a patient may bring in a photo of a celebrity and demand an identical nose, and later find that this type of nose does not complement their other features and overall facial aesthetic. It is important to talk with your doctor in order to achieve both satisfying and realistic results. It is rare that a recent rhinoplasty surgery requires extensive revision work, unless something has gone wrong. Sometimes, patients accidentally cause damage to themselves after the surgery, or are for some reason unsatisfied with the end results. In this case, very small irregularities can be fixed fairly easily and inexpensively on an outpatient basis. More extensive work will require more surgery at more costs. That is why it is important to work with your doctor to get the right results the first time.

Psoriasis an angry man’s game

October 26th, 2008 by admin

Psoriasis an angry man’s game

For nearly 10 years I’ve been using hypnotherapy to help clients with Psoriasis. I have noticed three particular personality traits that seem common to most clients I see. But more of that later… When I first started working with clients who had Psoriasis, I conducted a study into the effectiveness of hypnotherapy on the condition. Initially I didn’t expect too much, however the results were staggering. Before I started I spoke at length with a psychiatrist and a psychologist, neither of whom believed there was any mind body connection to the condition, and therefore hypnotherapy would have no effect on Psoriasis. In fact I recently worked with a psychiatrist with Psoriasis and even he didn’t believe that the mind could have any effect on the condition, yet he came to me for help with his Psoriasis. Once started however, each client in the study had to commit to seeing me for up to 12 weeks, and they had to have a PASI form completed by their GP at the beginning, and 3 months after the start of the study. (A PASI form is simply a method of recording the severity of the clients’ Psoriasis. It measures coverage, thickness and redness, which gave a benchmark before the work began.) A number of the GPs poured scorn on the study, stating quite clearly that their patient was wasting their time. An interesting thing for them to say, given they had no solution and very little help to offer at the time. Some of them had to eat their words. The participants in the study were all treated free of charge and none were paid, unless the GP charged to complete the PASI form, and then only their costs were covered. There were other conditions, such as for the past year they had not used any drug treatments for their Psoriasis, (apart from moisturising creams), prior to the start of the hypnotherapy study. During the study it came to my attention that there were three distinct personality traits that many of the participants shared. The most significant being anger. The anger was very common. I would say over 90% of the participants had this deep routed and very noticeable anger. However, the anger was surprisingly not always about the Psoriasis. Sometimes the anger was directed towards themselves, as if they had done something so wrong that the Psoriasis was a kind of punishment. However when client’s anger was directed at themselves, or more specifically at their skin and its condition, they will say things like “I hate my skin” with such vehemence and distaste, which is not helpful to any therapeutic intervention, so obviously needs to be dealt with. On these occasions I would utilise of some kind of release or forgiveness intervention. Often forgiving themselves and their skin is very difficult for the client, so I would allow plenty of time for this part of the therapy, as it is crucial to the overall well-being and de-stressing of the client. The skin is the largest organ in the body and as such it is not surprising that any underlying anxiety should manifest itself through the skin. Until the anger is completely released the client has no chance of becoming calm in their mind. The belief that they had done something wrong and hence deserved their Psoriasis is of course a fictitious belief. Generally most of them have had a perfectly normal life; although there was nearly always some drama or trauma in their childhood that helped to form a significant portion of the hypnotherapy work that was done during the study. It is my belief that eradicating, lessening or coming to terms with this anger is an important part of the change needed to affect the Psoriasis. Any intervention that does not take this issue into account is doomed to fail.I will cover the other two personality traits in future articles. These are the “I’m not good enough” belief structure, and the “Victim” belief.Brief Hypnotherapy study results. 28% achieved a 95% reduction in their Psoriasis. A further 29% obtained over 50% reduction. 43% saw little or no reduction at all. However ALL participants in the hypnotherapy study reported a completely different attitude to their Psoriasis.
